Still looking for help

I just started a marketing blog, basically I am looking for you to look at it and be as critical as possible to help me make my blog work. It is a work in progress, but I think I have something here... so take a look in my profile for the site.. comments on the blog would be much appreciated too I'm looking for good responses, not nonsense

As critical as possible ey? You asked for it.

Your blog sucks. It isn't just below average, it just downright sucks. What is the point of your blog? Marketing? Then why is it when I click I just see you asking for feedback instead of offering insight in marketing? You're supposed to be the expert blogging about it, why do you need feedback?

The design is horrid. If you want people to stay there don't keep a dark junky type theme. I hate wordpress but I think that if you moved to wordpress it would be hard to have something worse than what you have.

Next... its on blogger... big no no for internet marketing, never have your blog depending on a 3rd party provider. Many horror stories surround this, just check the main internet marketing forum.

    Steps to make it better...

1.) Don't ask for feedback like that on your blog(here is fine, just not on your blog)
2.) Get a cleaner design, something simple but effective
3.) Get a standalone blog... forget 3rd party, get in control yourself.

Do that and you'll be better off. Good luck to ya.

Hey, there are tons of free templates out there that will be easy for you to install.. just search up wordpress or joomla, a domain name is only a couple bucks, might as well do it! It would help you out a ton.

Dont go too crazy on color schemes if you have GREAT content, that is what will keep people there!

If I might suggest go to godaddy and make sure your domain you want is not taken. If you build a brand and can not get the domain that will be bad.

I do like the beach picture though good touch.

Hey Guy I would suggest you go to fiverr do a search for wordpress designer and header designer.

Find a site you like to give them an idea of want you want pay them about 10 or 15 to
put it together.. And then do another search on fiverr for article writer. tell someone on fiverr the kind of article you want to write. get them to write it for you. And then you can rewrite it in your stlye of writing. Post in on your blog. Recommend some products
on marketing like Dan Kennedy's website. using your affiliate link.

On you site you should give away a very nice report to get people to sign up on your list.

Your marketing information should be on what's working now. Like kindle stuff.

I like your better living title. But it should be more like Better Living In hard times like these. It will give a person a reason to look at your site more closely.

I tell you...you have done more than most people you took the first step..you got started. You are to be commented for your efforts. I would suggest you write down your ideas and hire low cost professionals to help you make them a realty

That's my 3 cents worth hope it helps you.

thanks for the input. that is my ultimate goal to get my own site up and running, I hope to have that going in 1 to 2 weeks. I guess you can call this blogger experiment my test run, just to get a feel of what my niche is, but yea I am hoping to have my own site in the near future and hopefully start generating myself something

    Ryan,

I would better suggest you to use WP instead of Blogger as it has awesome templates which fits to any niche properly. Along with that great social plugins are too there which you can use effectively. Plus you must be aware of that now blogspot appears region wise so this problem too you will not get in WP.

"remember you have to spend money to make money."

      Why?

Plenty of people get jobs every day.

They don't pay to get jobs (although they may have to take a bus or drive to work).

There is also plenty of work you can do for offline businesses where you will get paid 50% or so upfront in advance before you start working.

When I started out online I never "spent money to make money".

That was simply not possible because I didn't have any money to spend.

From day one I set out to make an income.

Generally speaking the statement "you have to spend money to make money" is made by people who are trying to rip you off.

If you want to create a blog people will visit you may want to either be more open about yourself and what you're trying to achieve and why your readers will benefit from reading about that or...

      Niche a whole lot tighter.

Blog about developing ONE skill or ONE type of business...not just crazy random stuff.

      Kindest regards,
      Andrew Cavanagh

Hey! I just feel by the tone of this thread that you are in a fragile place right now. Been there my friend, the most important thing you can do is find confidence. FAKE IT if you don't have it! After you land a client or two you will find it. Read these books:

The Ultimate Marketing Plan - Dan Kennedy
The Sticking Point Solution: 9 Ways to Move Your Business from Stagnation to Stunning Growth in Tough Economic Times - Jay Abraham

After you read them...read them again and again. Go to every resource listed in these books and bookmark them. Use these books as a guide and become the M consultant. I know its scary, ive been right where you are.

Only work with clients that have a high customer LTV. Where their clients are worth at least $5K. Start out at $500 per month or charge a one time fee of $5000 +.

Stop buying stuff on WF! You must stop selling services, be a trusted advisor, a marketing coach. The one product you might consider is Cold Call Eliminator by Steve Rosenbaum and Jim Armstrong. It's Dan kennedy in action and if you use their Direct Mail system you will get clients!

Again...Be confident. Charge high fees. Use the information available to you!

    God Rules!

Like many others have mentioned on this thread, get your own domain name. That's the first thing I tell my blog coaching clients. Domains are cheap & so is hosting, and that small investment in professionalism will help others take you seriously. If you're not already successful yourself, one thing you can do is interview others who are. This will give your blog more credibility. Good luck!

I'm going to reiterate a few things that people have said, since they are so important, and add a few of my own:

First off though. If you are serious about getting into and teaching affiliate marketing (which is the first thing I saw on your site) I suggest you get the ebook Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner. She's a master and will take you through everything step-by-step. If you can't do it yourself, you can't teach others.

Now, if you're committed to this particular blog, here's what I suggest:

    1. Get your own domain name today, install Wordpress and a pretty template. Don't worry about what's on the current domain. There isn't that much there anyway.

    2. Get rid of the Adsense. It makes you look like a spam site. Also, you're talking about affiliate marketing and then posting Adsense. The two do not go hand-in-hand.

    3. Your domain name, if you're going to stick with it, is very vague so you're going to have to do more research to decide on your niche. Is it affiliate marketing? Is it selling ebooks? It looked like affiliate marketing to me first, because that was the article I saw. If you're just focusing on the keyword "make money online" then you're already fighting a losing battle. Narrow it down to something you might actually compete on. You can use a tool like Market Samurai to help.

In fact, I would really encourage going back and doing a little more research first to decide on your niche and market. You'll save yourself a lot of time, money and heartache by figuring out a niche that you will be able to compete in and enjoy at the same time. You haven't gone very far on this site yet, so don't invest more time making it look nice until you really know what you're targeting.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but I've been there myself when I first started out and wasted far too much time making things pretty when I should have been focused on the marketing.

    Good luck!

I don’t like the ads everywhere, but that might just be from it being blogspot. The color scheme isn’t doing anything for me either, the red is a big no-no and those top shades of green don’t go to well with the yellow text color (You might want to go more brown for that. The green top bugs me anyway, it doesn’t feel very fluid and inviting to me.
