Neat 'Google Hack' To Find Desperate Clients

Quick one here guys, I dunno if anyone else has posted this on here but I just 'sorta' figured it out for myself the other day. Here goes

Just type this string into your browser:

keyword & or location "Google Sites"
OR
keyword location "website design by Yell"
OR
keyword "1&1 My Website"

So I would type in:

Lawyers Scotland "Google Sites"

(That alone has produced about 260,000 results!)

You get the idea. Some of these websites are just God-awful ugly & the biz owners know it but can't do a thing about it!

What I generally do is collect a BIG list of them, usually lawyers in my area.

I'd spend a good day taking down details & in depth notes about their companies & perhaps even do a bit deeper research about them & their field of business (ie set up a Google Alerts for "Lawyers Edinburgh") this way I am well armed to give them a call the next day or two.

Key Note: Do NOT try to SELL on the phone, all you want is a meeting with the 'Shot-Caller' - be pleasant, friendly & honest & that should get your foot in the door!

So why are you still reading this...??

... go get em TIGER!

Great idea, and good twist on the uses of that famous scraping software some of us use...

Didn't even cross my mind. Great. Really great... honestly.

    Two thumbs up.

    Awesome - thanks!

Can I ask what your success rate is with this? i.e. how many calls convert into a client on avg?

Why no selling on the phone? I do it all the time... But then again, I guess if you're targeting your own local area you're more likely to go for meetings instead of 1 call close.

    Good post.

      Great idea!

      FYI, if you just use...

      Keyword Location "Google Sites"

... then not all of the sites in the search results are going to be 'Google Sites'.

So if you want to ensure that ALL of the sites in your search results are 'Google Sites', then you can do this...

      Keyword Location inurl:sites.google.com

I agree on "no-selling on the phone" we have to take considerations to people that doesnt like to be called, it is ok to start smoothly by sending them emails, and if they said that they can be called, thats the time we can call them and sell what we have.

I did something like this with lame yellow page sites, I found a footprint to scrape a bunch of sites. Started calling the companies but found out these were just freebie junk sites and most companies had their own real sites.
That's something to keep in mind, that they don't have another better site.

As a business owner I have been bothered by so many times by people offering these types of services that I generally hangup on anyone that says the words "your google listings need updating" or anything similar.
