Bounce rate describes the percentage of visitors who come to your site and leave having only viewed one page ( a "bounce").

Generally speaking, your thought in the other thread that the bounce rate on mobile devices should be higher than on regular computers is correct. Mobile normally will have a higher bounce rate. However, as you said you've only been tracking data for a week, I'd say right now, that data isn't really worth much.

If you're still seeing a lower bounce rate on mobile phones after you've had a few thousand unique visitors come through, then it'll be time to start scratching your head. Id have to think though that over time you'll probably see it head the way you'd expect. Who knows though.

As Ryan said, who knows. It would be interesting to see this stat across a bunch of sites.

I'll give you something to think about though. Methinks the bounce rate on mobile is going to high ONLY if your mobile site one page. In this case your bounce rate will be 100%, right? After all, there is nowhere to go other than back. But if your site lands to a page with very little info on it, they'd have to click on some link to get the info they came for. Now it's likely you are going to get a very low bounce rate.

I'm sure Google doesn't quite know what to do with the bounce rate for mobile quite yet. After all, did they "bounce" because they got what they wanted, the mission was accomplished, and they were off to do other things? Or did they bounce because your site is crap? Also, did they stay around because they likes your site so much or did they keep clicking around looking for the info, getting increasingly irritated and frustrated?

Basically, I don't think bounce rate is a good metric of customer experience when applied to mobile.

You should create video introduction about the restaurant and that will help with your bounce rate. There must be something to make people stay on your site and video serves GREAT for this.

Bounce means someone visited one page of your site, and timed out or abandoned or moved on to another site from that page.

Consider this, when you're thinking about your bounce rate...

The CEO of the $20 million firm I work for does all the PPC. Smart guy. Smarter than I am. We're responsible for the PPC for our franchisees as well, so it's very important. We get a lot of natural hits from his SEO management, too.

Anyway, we had a certain bounce rate and that was typical and we were OK with it.

And then we changed the landing pages from general to highly targeted.

Our bounce rate went through the roof.

    Everyone was panicking until...

...we realized people were stopping surfing, and picking up the phone to call in.

Our new landing pages were converting at a much higher rate than the previous version.

Sometimes a high bounce rate isn't a bad thing. Consider: are your prospects doing what you want them to be doing? Picking up the phone and calling you is the result you really desire; not for them to surf around 100 pages of your site and go to bed.
