Google Webmaster Tools - Really Worth Using It?

Hello.

Some time ago I've seen posts from people advicing not to signup your sites in Google Webmaster Tools and only use Awstats or Webalizer as your main log program. From what I see now, Google takes control on everything and I am somewhat undecided on whether I should or shouldn't signup my lead gen sites in G Webmaster Tools. Any advice on this?

    You will be fine using Google Webmaster Tools and will gain a lot of useful information from it. Google know uses it to alert you of link penalties etc so well worth keeping an eye on.

    I'm personally testing out this with webmaster tools and analytics. So far there is no proof that it hurts your websites or helps. Jury is still out on that one. I wouldn't worry about it.

    The Google Webmaster Tools and Analytics are great. I've been using them for a while now. There is a wealth of free information given by their experts on what you should and should not be doing. It's worth signing up just for that.

    I've been using the google tools for years and don't have a problem with using them. In fact I think they are responsible for my sites been indexed quicker and more indepth, webmaster tools also helps me with any problems that Google thinks my sites has, because it will notify me and give me some input.

    I know lots of people who don't like using them, and in theory I can see why, but these days, more and more, I think Google can get a lot of the info about your site anyway, so the benefits far out weigh the risk for me.

    I use Google Webmaster Tools on all my websites and I've never had a problem. Provides plenty of useful information for free that you can't really get anywhere else so in my opinion it's a no-brainer.
