Need Help Closing Deal!

Hi Guys and Gals

I have this contractor ranked for a video above Google places for his keyword and I mean its at the very top of the page... then other listings follow plus G+Local, on top of that he is ranking on the first page for 4 or more keywords in his industry. Since I have showed him that I know what I am doing I am ready to close the deal, after payment I will be adding other marketing campaigns such as website, PR, G+ local and a few others. I created the video and ranked it as a bonus service not for "free". The guy had absolutely no on-line presence before I began working with him, he is happy with the video but I am still not sure he gets the significance of having an on-line presence.

How would you approach closing the deal!

Hi. Try not to make it complicated. Show him what you've done so far and ask for the check. 50% deposit to start. Tell him it how long it will take and that you'll collect the balance when it's finished. Then have him sign a contract with these terms and define "finished."

I'll second this. Show him where the video is right now....how long it took, show him how many people per month are searching for that search term and now he is right in front of them.

Tell him your going to do XYZ for XXXX (notice the 4 X's because you seem to be doing a lot, don't undercut yourself) and ask him if he wants to pay the first month by check or credit card.

Don't say anything else until he responds.

Here's how I suggest closing a deal- "At the end of your initial sales presentation".

Thats the breaks. We try to tell people. Sigh...

Sounds like a plan! I'm just starting to really read into this whole "offline marketing" thing but it seems there are a lot of people doing work before getting paid. There also seems like a lot of people are using other tactics as opposed to just getting on the phone and hitting it until money flys out.

My goal is to offer the video as a bonus service, maybe I should rethink this part (for future clients) as my time is valuable

The warriors have given me a lot to ponder

Present three packages and ask which he feels is best suits him. Once he makes the choice say "Is now a good time to grab the check or do you need me to drop by in a couple of hours." I do have a few other stops I need to make today. (calls I need to get back to).

If he has seen what you have done already and knows its on the top tell him you will be able to keep it there for another 3 hours without pay if he want to look at it again. Create a since of urgency if you have already provided value.

Would some one like to give a couple of examples of packages. I think to start 3mo, 6mo, or 12mo is good, how would you package the services for instance, how many services would you offer in your less expensive package compared to the most expensive. I have a number of services I want to offer... putting them into a package sounds like the way to go. Then I wouldnt be all over the place

      Thanx!

      • When you try to close a deal when the client is not ready to buy you''ll get resistance.

Customers needs the value of what you're selling translated - You need to put the value into terms that the customers can understand.

When you do that part right then the customer will tell you when he is ready to buy. He will start to give you signals.

Simply put - Customers act on emotion and impulse.

So fire up their emotions. Get them thinking of all the reasons why they should buy your services and the consequence of what will happen if they don't purchase. The pain, the fears, the resentment, what it will do to them, how it will make then feel and so on...

        Success is yours!

Just ask for the money Tara, you are worth it if you are going to put in time for them, some will say no...some will say yes, but NOBODY wastes your time.

You have to let them know you are a business person too. My brother always says "If Im not confident enough to charge, then how can you believe I am going to make you any money"

Thats why he doesnt do free seminars...

Anyway, you may blow a few closes in the short run by practicing boldness, but if you make a habit of saying "No I cant get your order started without a down payment" then you will be a KILLER a few pitches from now.

I know this seems vague, but it will raise your confidence to have standards too, then instead of trying to pretend you have it all together your actual true VIBE will say it authentically, that you have standards. believe me it will change the dynamic for both you and the prospect.

Be willing to lose a little to gain alot...or else you get strung out for weeks and waste more time than its worth.

Doing free webpages isnt what I mean by losing a little. I mean "ask everyone for money", and you will lose only the ones who werent going to do it anyway more than likely as you see here.

If you can make $500 in a 30 minute presentation its good. If it takes you 3 presentations a day to do that, its still good, thats 10k per month...but if you are spending energy doing free work for people 80% of the time and not doing the 2-3 presentations per day then thats not so good.

Dont do anything for anyone without money when it comes to this, here's how you can do it...

"Bob, looks like I have everything I need here, did you have any questions?"- He might ask for the next step, if not proceed, the answer is the same either way...

"Okay now as far as billing, how did you want to handle that, we usually do visa mastercard or check...which one is going to wiork best for you today...?"

(He checks his secretary to see whats in the account and comes back and says "I only have $200 in the account ATM, you will have to try me back friday".

You say, honestly Bob, I would prefer NOT to to do the phone tag thing if its all the same to you. Tell you what, why dont you just go ahead and cut me a check for $100, and i will go ahead and get this started and we will just take it one step at a time as you can do this and get it done... i can at least register a domain and put up a home page for you for now, so you can check it out....Would that help you Out?".

This way Tara, you close even the people you almost didnt close on at least "something" and pay for your gas money and phone time...also, you locked them into a commitment, even if you didnt get the full amount, and as I always say, next time a salesman comes they are going to say "I already have a web person".

You will be less intimidated if you understand that your goal is to get the full close, always ask for it, but in lieu of that get "something".

You know you can offer options if the full close isnt one, so you ask more confidently.

Always end your counter offers with "Would that help you out Bob", to appear helpful and not anxious.

    Hope this helps.

Ps. This post came from sitting in one too many peoples offices making presentations. I finally learned "Im going to get SOMETHING here, even if I dont walk out with the full deal"

Thank you John! that does help. I started working with this guy super excited to help him and kind of forgot this is how I earn a living so when it's time to collect payment that I know I have earned the excitement kind of fizzled, although I know this should be the most exciting part.

I do appreciate the feedback from everyone, its helping me to get focused! I am not afraid of him saying no but I would be disappointed about not being able to get back the time I put into this

Go in knowing that if you cant get the full deal- you are going to "help him out" and blow his mind by offering to at least do something for him, even if he cant afford the whole ball of wax up front...

Then you know ahead, if this guy needs help getting started, Im going to help him.

That makes you walk in totally different. "Im not going to rape you like other sales man, Im here to help, and if that means that I have to work with some I will, I just cant start for nothing, but we can work something out that helps you and at least gets your presence started...unless he just isnt a real prospect, in which case I can let him go"

This way , you always at least walk out with money for your time consulting in 80-80% iof the cases.

The big thing is that it changes the dynamics, and the way you present, because you are confident..."No money, no problem, i can work with you...now whats the excuse?"

    Do or die baby.

    You got this!

Not that this is you but alot of people wonder "How can I seem more confident in my presentations"... the answer is to change the actual true vibration and not SEEM that way, but "be" that way.

There are things you can do to generate more self confidence naturally, like going in KNOWING that you can help someone...or KNOWING that you can live wirth or without the full close...

That KNOWING causes "real" confidence, not tricks to make it look that way.

My dad told me this it it works every time for this kind of thing. If you perform some work for someone and you were expecting to get paid, but maybe it was your fault for not setting up a price in the being. Just go over all the work you finished with them and ask "where should I send the bill?". Works every time.
    Enjoy

    You go girl!

    @ Mike
Present three packages and ask which he feels is best suits him.
Exactly giving them options makes them close themselves. 10% will go with the most expensive option

    @John
    "ask everyone for money"
Some famous person was quoted for this.. his response to his success was everyday he just asked people for money. lol

@Tara... Remember you can only work with one type of business. (limited, fear of loss) You can't compete against yourself. You already showed him results, which is awesome.

    Now close.

There is money slipping past their business everyday the don't get leads..

Thanx! Claudine...As of yesterday I have been getting some pretty strong signals it came after I put together a short video to show the client his progress and the value of my services. I began with a comfortable consulting atmosphere, since I started with this client I haven't yet gotten any resistance. I am putting my offer together today and will present it Monday!
