Salesgenie? Infofree?

Do any of you cold callers / Direct Mailers use these services to quickly find businesses in your local area?

If not, what services do you use? The reason I think it's good to use these is so that you can organize who you call locally in your area, rather than just bothering the same folks over and over on yp.com.

What do you think?

    John Durham actually recommends salesgenie in his free report http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...rting-now.html . His report is excellent and he has always been helpful, so I completely trust his recommendation although I have not personally used them.

    Unfortunately I don't think they operate in Canada. Does anyone know similar services that operate in Canada?

    The best list will be the one you create.

    Everyone is calling the same businesses in those lists...I've worked for several companies that used either one, and yes you could get business from it...but the most effective leads were those I processed myself from a list I created. Gets you on target more quickly.

    Just remember to make your list during "No-Pay Time"--when your customers aren't available.

      I'm a bit confused with how to build your own list without running into gatekeepers. I know that you as well as JD has said that you should target businesses with 5-10 employees or less. How do we find that out without using a service like infofree.com?

      I want to jump on the Mobile Renegade software but I'm stuck between the two options. Thanks.

        I think you're thinking too much. You're thinking about things that really don't matter as much as you think. The important thing, is to get in front of a decision maker with your offer. The more you do that, the more sales you will make.

        I'd say forget the amount of employees... just don't go after the corporate retail and fast food chains. Anything else is game.

    It doesn't matter which list you call, as long as you actually call and try to make good presentations. To find businesses in your own local area you can use your telephone book, your feet or your eyes. If you can't generate prospects with any of those three tools, you are in the wrong line of work - beginner or not.

    Work hard, be aggressive and make a lot of calls. If this was easy, it would pay minimum wage.

    I can't think of any reason to use salesgenie over infofree because infofree gives you unlimited lookups and downloads (25,000 downloads actually) for under $50. Salesgenie costs a fortune and makes you pay for a whole year.

    I love infofree and find it invaluable but Jason and Beeswarn have it right, just get out and call and stop screwing around.

        I don't see why this is a recurring problem here. The source of leads does not matter as much as you think. Go to your local library and use reference USA, it's free at almost all public libraries...

        Filter your search, and download the list to a USB. Take it home and you have plenty of leads. Don't worry about the little things just pick the phone up and call...you will find someone interested in your service.

        It's really not that hard. You can go through the phonebook and call from a cell phone and STILL get sales. You just have to start doing it and not get hung up on which lead source you want to use.
