I want to start doing webinars...How do I promote them?

So I'm planning a webinar, but I want the attendees to be offline businesses, not internet marketers.

So these are my questions:

What is the best way to attract them?
How long should promote the webinar before having it?

I should also mention that my goal is to get business owners in a certain 'niche' , but I want them from outside my local area. (My area doesn't have many of my niche,)

Maybe post a WF banner ad for a day or post a free WSO with a link to the webinar?

You have to be very careful, or feel the wrath of the mods.

I offered free webinars 6 months ago in which I didn't promote a thing to anyone, and I got banned for a week. And I had recordings to prove no offers were made, and they were all about sharing information.

Maybe you could put a link in your sig, but that's as far as I'd go.

What would they be mad about? I'm not offering a webinar here, I'm asking how to promote one to people who aren't IMers. Isn't' that what the forum for? Finding out how to promote stuff?

There's no link here to any webinar. I know to do that, I'd need to buy an ad. But Imer's aren't my target market, which is why I need the help.

        Hi Sadie,

You're doing the right approach. Emphasize that for the bricks-and-mortar business not obsessed with Internet marketing you are saving them buckets of money and time (think travel) with your online seminar (webinar) hosting. It's a fact that more and more non-Net-based businesses are utilizing webinars and web-meetings more and more. It's insanely cost effective! Just keep to that angle and go, go, go.

Call them and tell them about it, or mail them something about it.

You could send them emails if you have their email address, but I doubt most would get it, and if it is niche, who knows.

The question is, with anything, how much are you going to make if they buy. I take it you are selling something?

You need to create a sales budget, the money you spend on marketing the businesses to get someone to come to your webinar.

Same Response on this thread here.

We love Webinars for our Local Clients.

We have a landing page sign up here.

Drive traffic to this page via
    1. Email List.
    2. Social Media
    3. Organic and Local Search
    4. (testing paid channels)
    5. Offline Post Card Drop Off
    6. Auto Responder

    1. Email List
We have built our list by attending trade shows and capturing a business card. We deliver education and value through out list.
    2. Social Media
We create content and try and have it shared in the social networks. We send personal customized invitation letter to LinkedIn Group participants (i.e. targeting dentist, we send messages to dentist in LinkedIn).
    3. Local and Organic
We have not done a lot in this arena, but generate about 100 uniques a day in terms of traffic.
    4. Paid Channels. We don't know much about this.
    5. We have a customized, hand written post card we drop off at local attorneys and dental offices around Chicago. The handwritten note with business card is left, and we return with their business card.
    6. 28-day auto responder is triggered with several different sequences. Almost every email drives a call to action to sign up.

Once leads are put into the system, education and webinar sign up are automated.

    We use these tools.
ZOHO - form creation and auto responder
Infusionsoft - auto responder with complex tracking
GoToWebinar - record every webinar and distribute through channels.

Promote live attendance by promoting live questions, which are NOT recorded.

I remember you did those but I don't remember you being banned, that's good information as I had considered doing a 100% non promotional webinar on here at some point.

Last thing I need is the banhammer!

local chambers of commerce, get on rotation to do a presentation, they might also send a link to your webinar for members who won't attend the event.

local community education programs. offer a class on your topic for businesses, you could also advertise a webinar for those who cannot attend.
