Going to my first networking event...any advice?

OFFLINE MARKETING

Hi everyone.

Next week i'm going to a chamber of commerce networking event...my first one ever.

There will be about 80+ businesses there i can possibly pitch my mobile site and sms/text marketing services too.

Do you guys have any advice on what i should bring along with me in terms of marketing materials? and also how i should approach business owners?

any advice would be appreciated.

Yes. Get a good 30-second commercial together. Practice it until you know it by heart.

Don't expect that you'll be able to talk to everyone.

Attendees of these events are used to "flash in the pan" types who come and go. They may not give much credence to the newbie. Show some staying power. Commit to attending at least 6 months of these. They'll take you more seriously in the later months, because they've seen you a few times.

Think about how you can help them, rather than how many sites you think you can sell.

  Do your research on who will be there.
  See where you can assist them.
  
  Then when you meet the person,
  Point out you noticed something about x
  that holding back it's peak performance.
