    Hey Ryan....ask yourself;

    1) WHY do biznesses NEED a website?
    2) WHY should they PAY YOU to give it to them?

    OK....here's MY answers;

    Yrs ago when I was looking into providing websites for small biznesses there were (Still Are) a whole bunch of "Website Designers and/or Developers"....banging on the doors of local biz.

    So....I KNEW I had to come up with something that was DIFFERENT than what all the others were promoting.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Excuse me! I just realized I'm LATE for an appt! Later.

    Well, it really depends on what type of designing services you are providing. That said, if you have website design in your mind, then, homepage design, logo design, contact form, internal pages, SEO, search engines submission and revisions come together to form package price. Flash Banner design can also add to the package price.
    For better clarity, here is a link to the packages page of reputed web design company. Fatbit.com Web design packages page .

      Fatbit is not a US based company. I'm not familiar with their work but I wouldn't base my pricing off theirs... besides way too many options.

        yes you are right i mean reputable , thanks for help ....
        Keeping the technical skills constant, there is only one thing that differentiates a master web designer from an average one , that one element is thinking about ‘users’. By users, I mean people who browse website for choosing packages . Web design veterans have insights into the psychology of an average user and they do their work keeping the same in mind.
        Designers should have to create packages page by thinking about users .My Suggestions to customize your packages for different users (May be Categorized as whether want to design for individual purpose ,small business , large business , eCommerce business ) .
        As Discussion is Regarding website pricing there are fair chances that company for which you design that page , Provides services like logo designing , marketing , content writing etc
        Showing all services pricing in one page is not solution and even best practices So your page will be smartly navigated among different service page that helps users to find them easily and aggregate their total expenditure ( if they plan to hire other services like Logo design costs , content writing costs , flash design costs etc ) , May those services have different set of rules to defines their costs .

        While researching analyzing few top sites, I came across SmartWebby smartwebby.com/design_packages.asp and found it useful. Another one, FATbit packages page, I discussed in my first reply. By considering both pages, you can easily develop great packages page for your design services.

        What I Analise is (with few more site other then shown above) is that most of good website includes pricing details in levels .

        Like Basic Website Packages , Business , single page design website , 10 pages , 100 pages , Corporate Website , eCommerce , Animated Website design costs , professional packages etc.

        Do you have Question In mind Why Companies Should have to Show off their costs as custom views ?
        Probably Answered as , May the Client have different predefined plan for their website that clues that and give Idea , How much It costs them by joining hand with this firm .

        One more point that would like to highlight here is , Include live chat option on page , Live Chat option on website is very important to quickly help visitors with queries and doubts regarding products & services "In this case any query regarding packages and pricing in customizing them" , You can Add Live chat option
        "If anyone interested and have minor query in mind regarding costs then he have quick insight at that link and attentions directly comes to contact you"
        , at end of packages page or in side bar of page or at top navigation (clients satisfaction is included with option ) ..... ("Even if your site requirements don't fit these packages we highly recommend you select a package that comes closest to your design requirement and then request a quote for the remaining additional requirements. ")
        Hope this Post Will helps you as Web Designer to Decide what to include in your packages .

    Having a successful online presence is much more than a website these days. You need to get your customers to understand that simply putting a 5 page static website together won't help build their business. All the extra services mentioned above by others (SEO, social media, etc) are essential to getting real orders out of the web.

    Try to sell your services as a complete online marketing package where they can start with a website and then add other essential services to, rather than thinking of it as a website where they can tack on other features if they feel its worth it.

    I offer one price for the website they want, and although it may be somewhat high, I tell them I can't drop the price, but I can offer a few additional benefits in that price such as:

    -A responsive version of their site
    -Some stationary designs (business card, brochure, etc)
    -Google Places setup
    -Facebook setup (if they aren't too technically minded)
    -Onpage SEO

    There's no doubt you can sell all of those services, whether you provide them or you outsource them.

    But you shouldn't sell packages. You should find out what the businesses needs are first. It will also depend on their industry.

    If you have a plumber that's a needed service to customers. You'll need to give them a functioning site that can capture leads and provides social proof (tesimonials/reviews) so the reader feels better about calling them. That is their tool.

    From there, you'd start providing performance and results through google rankings, google local, and perhaps video. This will give them results they want, so sell them on the idea of results, not the services themselves. Also getting them a responsive theme, or a mobile website will set them straight in the mobile market. Facebook and Twitter are usually not necessary when you have 100-200 people looking for plumbers each month, and you're the site that pops up with great reviews.

    If you have a coffee shop or restaurant, you'd still need to get them a site that offers email marketing, and start them off with some SMS marketing, which is way more helpful than email marketing. However this puts them on two channels. If they're game, sell them on Facebook too, so you'd hit them on three channels, however they'd eat your services up if you told them you can prove yourself before you offer Facebook. "It would be an expense better suited to wait until you've built a SMS list following." Tell them something like that, and they'll look at you as an honest helper, not just a money grubber. They're naturally skeptical of us. But this would depend on their situation. SMS marketing is practically fool proof anywhere that sells small items, food, nurseries, etc.

    You could build up a list of 1000 people. With contests and "bring 2 friends for a free appetizer" offers that list would skyrocket. If you're building a list you'd have to offer some value so they sign up with their phones. Imagine sending that list to them saying there's a contest for a month of free coffee. Not only would you bring in an insane amount of people 20% at least, but you'd get more phone numbers from their friends they bring in.

    So what I'm saying, is you shouldn't put anywhere set packages. Niches vary, and you should sell the owner on the idea of results.

    What I do in the case of a needed service like plumbing is ask them how much 10 clients per month would be worth to them. Whatever it's worth is always more than what I charge, so no matter what they'd be in the positive. And I tell them my goal is to steadily get them 10 clients per month minimum within 3 months.

    If it were a restaurant, then I'd sell them on the idea of flooding their gates with SMS marketing.

    Hope this helps, it's a bit of a ramble.

    It changes every time for me. I do have a 3 tier pricing package, but if I believe the client is likely to renew year in year out (which is what I want) I'm more likely to throw in extras.

    I say "it would be this price usually, but I'm willing to do it for this much." That usually piques interest. As long as I can afford the loss I don't mind, because more often than not they come back with more requests for more work. Also they refer me more business sometimes and having a reputation good enough to get work this way is more valuable to me.

    But to answer the question - I provide a basic a colour website logo, some copywriting, basic SEO, contact forms, social buttons, a mailbox and mail forwarders. I give them enough to have them indoctrinated with me as a person and what I offer.

    I like to include free business cards and postcards for offline marketing. The cost is very low and I can mark it up 200% or more. If you throw in some print advertising you can expect big numbers. I did a lead capture page with flyers for $1,200 and spent a day passing out the flyers. The lead capture page took 2 hours to make.

    On our website, we offer packages to choose from but when meeting with a potential client I always prefer to talk with them about their business, learn their marketing goals and then offer my opinion on what products best meet their needs.

    For some it may be Google + along with a website and for others just a Facebook page. You never know until you learn more about their business.

      We have three packages, all three of which include full website design, whatever the client wants, no limitations other than our collective skill set. The only reason for three different packages is the level of service, as follows:

      1st package (Specific hourly rate):
      If you want to hire us for a one-time project, and will have no further need of our services once the project is completed, this package is for you.

      2nd package (Same hourly rate but discounted):
      If you want to hire us for your project, and retain our services for any future maintenance or updating of the project as needed, choose this package.

      3rd package (Flat rate, based on job specs):
      If you would feel more comfortable with paying a flat rate for your project as opposed to an hourly rate, we are happy to accommodate you in this way.

      Each package comes with certain conditions, but those are the basics.

      K.I.S.S.

    Many professionals suggest going through packages on offer and comparing them with other service providers active in the same business. And it is only right to do the same.
    However, it totally depends on what type of designing services you are offering. Now, here is a very interesting discussion about 'What You Should Include in Your Packages as a web Designer'.
