Seriously? Yeah.. ok... SEO is going to die. PPC is going to die. Direct mailing, emailing, cold calling and everything else is put to death. Please continue letting idiotic blog posts alter your thinking in a way that these things are dead. That way the true professionals can handle the real work and the posers can stop giving us a bad name.

Relax man, I didn't say I believed what this article was saying, I just wanted to share it and get the opinions of fellow warriors. Don't know why you were so quick to bash on me.

Personally, I don't think SEO is going to die either, at least not any time soon.

Just interested in knowing what you guys have to say since I respect the people on this forum (not all of them).

And to be honest, I was really hoping you would be one of the people that did respond to this, but not in that manner.....

It was nothing against you, I'm just tired of hearing about it. I didn't say that I believed YOU thought that, I was just generalizing.

It's just tiring when you see things like that all the time about different marketing techniques.

Then the SAME people that claim the death of SEO... are pushing their content marketing crap. Content marketing is part of SEO. It's just obnoxious, that's all. It isn't your fault. LOL.

Alright no problem then, just misunderstood you. I can see why you would be frustrated about something like this, but the post still brings up some solid points about the direction Google is and has been going in.

Seems like they are more after destroying the whole link building strategy from what I read. Any thoughts on that?

My thoughts are the same as always. I never used pointless link building. I have always focused more on the site itself, and content. When you focus more on MARKETING instead of manipulating the search engine, you will find yourself in the best position possible! Build links to get yourself some traffic... don't build links on a botany forum, for your cheap pills online keyword. lol.

I think a lot of it is common sense. The only people really effected by algo changes are those trying to manipulate things in a stupid, lazy way. Know what I mean? When you focus on quality, you get quality.

Absolutely agree with you, Google does not like manipulators and those are the ones that will feel the wrath lol.

If you're gonna build links, make them relevant. I too have started focusing greatly on content for my clients sites but content is such a "broad" word when it comes to do. Any tips on best practices with content? Is it just onsite content you're focusing on?

Hear, hear totally agree with iAmNameLess He is Spot on!! Before you believe posts like the one in the link "Death of SEO" understand the laws of marketing then you will realise your being sold!

In 1994 people would hide text on sites and place the keyword 100 times in the footer, that didn't last long and SEO had to evolve, improve, refine and perfect new techniques and start writing real content. That improved the Internet massively and got rid of a lot of crappy sites... in 18+ years there has been constant updates to SEO techniques and search engine algorithms and these will always continue, it is evolution on both sides and sorts the 'wheat from the chaff' which needs to happen every now and again especially with lazy SEO companies using the likes of BMR etc.

The latest more public updates are just giving rise to a new army of lazy bloggers and a sudden influx of "SEO Experts" who need something to write about... We're bored of hearing about the animal kingdom please lets move on

SEO will always be alive as long as the SE exists! Updates go on all the time... 65 search quality changes for August and September: Search quality highlights: 65 changes for August and September - Inside Search

People are selling on the rules of fear for the masses:-

      • Identify the problem or create it!
      • Aggravate it and create fear!
      • Provide a so called "quick fix/solution"
      • Put a time limit or urgency to it...
      • Sold!

      ......don't get sucked in

Please don't take this personally or as an attack on your post, this is hopefully helpful and a constructive comment which will help people avoid crappy blogs

It's interesting, but the recent algorithm changes have been in my favor...

I'd be less inclined to say "SEO is dead" and more inclined to say "Black & Gray Hat SEO is going to get increasingly difficult"...

Google is one of the world's richest companies. Like any other good business they're going to protect their assets.

Anyone who plans on building a business by manipulating the assets of a $196 BILLION dollar company is running a fool's errand...

I'm sure all those links in that article are paid links, not necessarily for SEO but direct traffic (advertising).

Create an article/title that rubs folks wrong & you'll get traffic, old school trick.

That one link at the bottom of the article is a bitly link, which currently has 4,226 clicks (total clicks).

Here are my final comments on this topic for a while.
It's all about stirring up traffic.

Ive never been an seo kinda guy and all the link building strategies always confused me so I never really done em. But I had a music blog for a brief time that got to tge bottom of page one.. Was i on the right track regarding generating content. All these updates make no sense to me, but logic tells me if you follow the rules you should succeed.

As long as there are search engines, there will be search engine optimization. The links to peoples web sites are still backlinks. Only now more importance is given to social backlinks then to content backlinks.

Its not dying or anything like that and even if it does who cares I will shift to paid traffic or something new will come.

Yup, if anything this is just good news to the legit SEO companies out there that are actually providing value and generating results through 100% white hat methods, because if Google really does decide to lay the hammer down, the "wanna be" SEO'ers out there will never survive.

        Hi,

I still do SEO and make money. yes, I am agreed to your article and say that the % of clients dropped because of fearness to Big G. It is the way Google filtered the procedure as almost the SEO market was dominated by black hat mathods and spun contents for creating backlink.

Now all it depends on good contents with 100% copyscape and with fresh knowledge and then follow the procedure of white hat backlinking method.

It should be appreciated that we are bound to write good contents. We are finding some best blog sites now a days on best topics with fresh knowledge gaining contents. No way of copy and paste.

Social site backlinks are given importance for ranking and also you can create backlinks inside your own Blog/website. SEO is now not hard but methodical.
as like as mathematical problem solving.

I go through an article "SEO is Dead" If you will get relevant and quality links, your ranking will not be affected and you build unnecessary links, It is harmful your ranking as well as SEO.

      There's no death.

Just greater innovation to ensure that the system can't be easily gamed as it has been for so many years.

People should be grateful for the fact they have been able to acquire high rankings so easily as a result of simply posting a barage of articles / backlinks etc for as long as they have.
