Yeah, he was big on the scene when I started out in sales and public speaking. I would read his books in between cold calls, and I always had one of his tapes playing. (yes, they were tapes back then haha.)

He was one of the best platform salesmen in the world.

Wonderful man who made an enormous impact on the lives of countless salespeople.

Secrets of Closing The Sale was one of the very first sales training books I ever bought.

How can you not be inspired by him? Feeling overwhelmed or depressed or down? Read some quotes from the FB page Joe posted.

Zig was the most well known speaker in the world. Ask anyone to name 5 top motivational speakers. Most will name one or two or none.

Zig Ziglar comes up on top every time.

And he was a master craftsman from the stage. Other speakers would stay after they spoke..to watch him work.

Yeah, there is a fine degree of separation from a great motivator, and a WORLD CLASS one... Zig was that World Class guy... Game changing guy....not your average sales trainer from Podunk Idaho...

Not to be jealous...

Not everyone can be from Yazoo Mississppi you know...

Yes. See you at the top Zig Maestro!

I didn't know this was his (I'm not surprised though), I've trained probably just as many people with almost the same strategy for objection handling in B2C:

Agree
Restate
Isolate
Overcome

Here's a thread where we were just talking about Zig Ziglar before we found out about his death. There is a video of Zig training in the first post too.

(Did you know his real first name was Hilary? my first name is Claude, so funny first names must make you sell better!)

Yeah, RIP Zig. You were a true gentleman. I met the man in the early 80's at a NSA meeting. Just a great guy to listen to and be around.

Hey Claude, Claude isn't a funny first name. Did you know that in an ancient language Claude means one who is a true chief and leader of men?

I'm tellin' ya, a funny first name is Karab spelled backwards...

Just my 2¢...

Zig Ziglar was also an inspirational figure during my childhood since my dad liked him, it is shame.
I believe however the best we all should do is to follow Zig's advice and "Invest even harder in our Ventures"

I am sure he would have liked that as their fans..
