I would advise the basics:

Flyers

T-Shirts

Business Cards

(All with QR Codes) on them, directing to a squeeze page.

Try using this product for lead capture (no affiliation); http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...just-lazy.html

You can alter the printed materials to suit the type of biz you are promoting, highly doubt anybody else will have it.

While those threads are good ideas and some could be transfered for this situation but most of those threads are more geared to obtaining leads for offline marketing ( I realize some of the ideas just have to be modified for the industry) but I was looking for more industry specific ideas for a general contractor (construction) to obtain qualified leads and also just general contact info of individuals (for future marketing) but I would like to keep the two seperate so that they can contact the qualified leads (ready to have work done in the near future) immediately and then use all the contact info for future marketing campaigns.

Also I am open to hearing any other good trade show ideas as they would relate to a general contractors booth.

You could probably use some business cards, small promotional items, racks for brochures and Banner Stands. Here are some of the companies I have personally used.

For starters, do you have any idea what their competition is already doing? Without that knowledge you cannot create any uniqueness.

If you don't do they know? Have they done anything in the past that either did or didn't work particularly well?

Most booths consist of mockup of a design/remodel like maybe a kitchen or something similar, or displays product lines they carry, or some other visual hands on display to demonstrate work. Also they have a table set up with promotional materials, and flyers. Most have some sort of backdrop set up with a banner. Some have a flat screen or laptop with a loop of their portfolio and some have some sort of raffle set up to get contact info but really doesnt help to qualified leads of people who are ready to have work done. There is really alot of variance on the booths depending on the company. All booths have something to due with Homes whether it be construction, installs, appliance, ect.
