Could it be the wrong media stopping you from selling?

I was listening to a call put on by Perry Marshall recently.

He described the top salesperson in the company he worked for.

He was in awe.

He wondered how he could get away with saying stuff to potential clients.
Never lied or cheated. Just really challenged them at times.

Yet he couldn't write a decent email to save his life.

These days Perry could outsell that guy through
emails and the written word.

Then there would be guys who could outsell them combined
through on stage group selling.

Another person could outsell them all on cold phone calling.

For whatever reason, we all have a natural fit to a media for sales.

Just seems to be in our DNA.

Worth exploring which works best for you
and embrace it.

Good topic for discussion?

Best,
Ewen

If you are starting small, it's better to work on what you are good at to get the ball rolling. If you have a team, then you have a chance to try every medium you can think of. When I first started offline marketing, I was both cold calling and selling face to face. That's my arena. I can sell and I feel very comfortable face to face. Cold calling was not my strongest skill but I wasn't selling anything over the phone so it did the job. Now, I have a team and I only go myself to clients that have a fat wallet.

So, it's all about getting the ball rolling. You should not leave anything out anyway. If you suck at cold calling then get someone who doesn't. If you suck at one on one, then find a super star etc. You don't have the luxury to leave money on the table.

Totally agree. I hired someone to cold call and do follow up for my mailings while I did face to face calls and continued my letter and postcard mailings. I also do group presentations to business organizations and utilize a couple of lead generation pages. The more hooks in the water the better chance of landing a fish.
