Ideas for quick promotion?

Hi, a friend down here in Australia is having an album release party this Sunday.

She just asked me if I have any ideas for

She has a decent facebook presence, an OK website (on bandzoogle, which I am not so impressed by the conversion factor of), and she has been really energetically contacting everyone she knows and they know.

What else can she do?

I have suggeseted offering free MP3 downloads to those who bring friends, FB advertising..and then I'm out of ideas.

Any other gems you guys have?

    Let her do some tours and do great performance and play her best songs.

    Every promotion does not matter in the end if her album does not fit the taste of the people who listens to it.

      When I was living in the Aspen CO area I had a buddy who had a band that played in local pubs on weekends. He created many of his own stuff and he then recorded some of his bands best numbers.

      One night, as I was enjoying some After Ski libation....during a break he tells me he's recorded some of his best numbers and...because he knew I was in advertising and promotion, he asked if I knew of any Promotion Ideas.

      I told him I'd go around to some of the "After-Ski Hang-outs" and ask the pub owners if they'd play some of my buddies numbers.

      A few did AND....someone in the music industry liked what they heard, in one of the pubs and got my buddy into the BIG time.

      So....see if pubs in your area would be willing to put some of your friend's stuff in the "Background Play" sequence.

      Ya never know WHO might be listening.

    There are so many people who are now "discovered" on Youtube. You only have to get your video seen by enough people that it can go viral.

    Not a lot of time to get anything done. I like the idea of having friends bring friends. I would offer a special "VIP Access" prize to whoever brings the most friends. Maybe a special table near the star, autographed swag, a shout out during the party.
