Taking payments??

Hi everyone,

I desire use a method other than PayPal to take payments. I've heard of EZ check software. Do any of you use it? Can you point me to some reputable ones?

Also, what are any other payment options that you use that don't involve PayPal? I currently have a DBA or business checking account, if that affects your answer.

Your feedback is appreciated.

    I would say get square if you are in selling in person.

    That and your checking account will cover your bases.

    Most businesses I know pay their bills via checks. They are comfortable with that method and you should be as well.

    Nameless and others have spoken about taking checks via phone but I am not familiar enough with that method to explain it. Search the board and you will find more info on it.

      I agree Square is a good option. I'm also looking for options to use outside of Square though when the sale is closed and the payment needs to be sent online or over the phone (i.e. when I am not physically present, or when the client is not geographically close enough to use Square). I'm fine with taking payments by check. I like the idea of having a more immediate payment option.

    I use freshbooks for my accounting, invoicing and time tracking for all projects. Their main payment system is paypal, credit card or check but they do have the ability to API in main other payment gateways systems like authorize.net as well as country specific methods.

    If you're talking about an ecommerce system or something with an api that connects through a gateway to your merchant account, go with authorize.net (I used them for an ecommerce site for 9 years). You can do manually-entry too.

    If you're talking about in the field, Square and GoPayment (Intuit) work with the iPhone and I believe Android.
