Generating leads for a general contractor with Adwords?

I've had two general contractors ready to buy 100 call-in leads a month each at $75 per lead + a percentage of bigger jobs for about 6 months. At first I considered direct mail, but didn't know how well tat might work, nor if I could generate that many leads on a monthly basis. Same with telemarketing.

So what about adwords? Relevant terms get about (broad) 40,000 searches a month. Surely I could generate 200 call-in leads from that on a monthly basis?

If anyone has experience with generating leads like this with adwords, and what kind of landing page might drive the most, and most qualified call-in leads, drop me a line.

    Depends on the cost per click but yes just run keywords broad and lock it down to your marketing area in adwords, instant traffic.

    Depending on the area PPC can be pretty inexpensive when bidding on local terms. Most of my contractors are around $.50 or less.
