I made an extra folder by mistake and now I can't get rid of it. I tried deleting it several time and emptying the recycle bin. after a time I will pop up again. This is so annoying.

Is their a way I can permanently delete this?

Thanks

    Are you running Mac, Windows?

There's probably a better section to post this in...

no way it's a virus. I have had this problem a couple of years ago and their was a software that fixed the problem, but I don't have it now. I lost all my old data and programs when my hard drive gave out last year.

If you've run your antivirus/malware software and nothing comes up then I would create a new Windows user profile, and copy over your data from your old profile to the new 1.

What does this have to do with permanently deleting an empty folder?

Where did you make the folder? The issue may have to do with the location.

Also try deleting with command prompt

Also did you have any programs pointed at the folder? They might be recreating is. This happens sometimes when people are making MP3s for example.

I tried deleting from the command prompt but I just don't remember DOS to do the job.

I tried deleting at the command prompt, but I don's remember the DOS way to get to the path. The empty folder is on my desktop.

In the folder's properties, is it set as read-only by any chance?
