Has anyone come across this form of black hat SEO before?

Hi all,

Looking for some warrior advice, I hoping someone on here might have some experience with.

Im doing a little seo work for a family member who's competitor is ranking high due to, what appears to be tricky little fake style advertisements in headers and footers of website.

Im guessing these sites might be satellites, or some kind of clever automated code. but im not 100% sure.

See these style links below (in footers or headers)

These links above do not feature the competitors links for obvious reasons, but with a little home work I found a few more from what appears to be from the same source and style with a back link checker.

Id love to find the source of these adds if I could.

Would be interested in knowing others thoughts on these, or experience.
WIll these links have a lasting effect? Personally I think not.
But I did notice the competitors site drop a little with the latest penguin update.

But they have seemed to buy a bunch more of these since then, and back up they rise.

Iv noticed quite a few of these link backs going to a company called SEO4Site! Maybe this is the culprit! Has anyone heard of these guy also?

I feel Im getting warmer......

Youd even consider pointing those utter craptastic links directly at a real $$$ site?

Why? Do you hate your family member ?

Anyone around seo for any length of time has seen that kind of tripe.

If those are the types of links out ranking you and your family members site and you need to revert to that ... you may want to consider doing your family member a real service and outsourcing the project to someone who's a bit more versed in higher quality seo.

      1. non contextual links - that stick out like sore thumbs
      2. exact match anchors
      3. 1 site is de-indexed - thats a beut!
      4. one is PR 0
      5. another is a PR3 - with like zero links to it - so it will be a PR0 or n/a likely at next update

Sad if thats the kinda C-rap thats kicking your can in hte serps.

    Thanks for your words guys.

I have no intention of using this style of SEO for my brother in law. Just something I had'nt come across before and thought Id put it out there.

The competitors recently dropped after the penguin, but they seem to have purchased quite a few more of these dirty links and their rising again like a phoenix from the ashes.

    Very frustrating.
