Postcards for clients

Hey folks,

If we design postcards, for our clients. Can we make it that the design remains ours and the rights of ownership, does not transfer to the client?

I ask this, because...suppose we have a nice design/awesome copy and the client decides to not use our service and simply take the design and have it made at a local printer shop.

    Just let them know upfront that you're just licensing the copy/layout/design of the postcard for 1x use.
