Is there a simple Direct Mail software?

Hi all, I need a simple solution for managing a small direct mail campaign (NOT email). I have looked into Infusionsoft and salesforce but they are too much for my needs. I currently use Sugarcrm and Aweber. I want to export my data into a software that would let me schedule my list for mailings at preset intervals.
Any ideas?

With direct mail you are producing a physical piece of mail, thus all you need is to use a calender.

You can schedule your mailings in Google Calender or on a desk calender, but you are going to have to physically produce the mailings, or have a mailing house produce them for you.

Are you mailing postcards? or personal letter? samples of products? Do you want to use address labels or do you want them hand addressed?

I guess the bottom line is, there is no software that will do direct mail for you. You can use software to produce labels or to do the artwork for the piece to be mailed, but direct mail involves actual physical activity by you and/or your assistant or mailing house.

Thanks digichick, I am going to produce the pieces myself but need to organize each mailing according to a schedule. I need to send a series of mail pieces for each prospect. This is what I need help with. I was hoping to find something that I could import a list into and set up a series of mail outs to go out at 1week, 2 week and 3 week intervals. Basically I would see a list of all of today's mail outs and which piece they get.
I hope that explains things better.

    Hi BigV316

I'm not familiar with Salesforce, but I'm a bit surprised that they don't have something called 'automated processes' where you can define these direct mail items to be printed, and when they will be printed.

I use a salesforce competitor called vTiger, and I do this type of activity all the time with both email, and direct mail. I have systems set up so that vTiger will select the correct records, do a mail merge, and send out either the email or print a letter, based on a specific time past a certain date, i.e. 4 days later, 2 weeks later, and so on.

Thanks Tom, that's what I need. I was hoping for an opensource self hosted solution but I haven't found one yet. I'll check out vTiger though, thanks again.

        Hi there,

You can certainly have one developed using Sugar CRM

The myth about open-source solutions is that they're "free". You almost always have some modifications which will either cost you time, money or both.

That being said, SUGAR has been around a long time. We use it almost exclusively as a CRM solution.

        All the best,

        Sasha.
