Press release distribution service

hello all,

I am in a indecision on the company to choose from. I heard alot of good reviews about prweb and I heard good reviews about sbwire. I am trying to promote a fundraising event for my non profit ministry I work for. I want to try Sbwire but I am not ftoo familiar with them and not many reviews. I want to try PRWeb based upon them being ranked no 1 in alot of press release service, but I heard some bad things about them. I thought about using my state press association service to distribute my press release, but I am not sure if that is the best thing. Can anyone give me advice on what is the best to try? Also list the pros about using either one of these services. I greatly appreciate it.

Fundraising event for a local ministry? Better off targeting local media and fax the press releases. I remember for a few events and to generate press for a company I used to work for, I went through a list of 200 local sources and faxed press releases.

Go with MarketersMedia 1st Tier distribution, on top of all media sites, you also reach news systems like Factiva, Comtex and LexisNexis. You also see your press in Yahoo News. Then, request for a mail out to journalists. Tell them who you are targeting. If you have any media outlets that you think you want to reach, list the name to MarketersMedia as well. You will get a mail out to the people who will help you cover your story.

I tell ya Joey, just like anything worthy of pursuit in this fine world, you get what you pay for! This old adage doesn't stop with PR distribution.

I highly recommend PR Newswire for the strongest online distribution that money can buy.

local ministry...local press. online press release distribution would be for other benefits including links and a publishing link you can promote via social media.

To start gathering local contacts look up all the local newspapers, tv and radio stations in your area or within the region you want promotion. Takes some online research but very doable.

Many have option to submit your press release through their website. My preference is a name and email address. A phone call can help you obtain that as well as solicit their help to get it into the right hands and keep your list current.

Also use their sites to "submit a story" - they are looking for local events and community stories.

Many tv/news stations have a free section to add your local event.

Also use one of the event promotion sites. I think it's called eventful.com.

When we email direct to local news, tv and radio we include some keywords at the beginning to help them immediately get the relevance of the press release.

Local promotion like this is no guarantee of getting picked up. Never has been even when paying PR firms big bucks. Online distribution is guaranteed publishing but again, not guaranteed you'll get picked up by lots of news outlets or that it will net any results. An article on Yahoo Finance that gets no traffic or a few views one day doesn't drive traffic.

    Good luck.
