So a friends mother is a real estate agent and is looking for ways to promote her business, I'm experienced with PPC/SEO/SMM/Email, but has anyone here worked to promote a real estate agent's business via other means?

Though I don't have personal experience of real estate but I would say that email marketing and smo would be best for promotion and if your client have enough capital then you can suggest for real estate mobile application reach maximum number of people through mobile.

I got one word for you...."postcard marketing". I have a bag full of postcards (600 of em) Id say, 150 of are from real estate agents and listings. You can either do this (which, I like best) or possibly use facebook.....

I think you should try social media. It really gives the audience the feeling there is a person behind the company and it's way easier to get feedback and see what people need so that you could meet their expectations. Also, try to include social media into your email marketing campaign , I'm sure it will work for the best!

    Good luck!

Tell stories. Why they should move to that specific city. What are the best schools, parks, restaurants, things to do, etc. Why do people like living in that city?

I personally have worked with a number of Realtors and have designed a number of marketing solutions that have proven to be quite successful. Probably the most successful has been with branded business cards that are tied to local businesses. There are two basic job functions for Realtors and they are find sellers to list and buyers to buy. The branded business card is tied to several local businesses in the area that the Realtor is promoting. The realtor gives the cards away and tells people that they what to list their home and at some point they may want to but in the mean time here is my card and if you stop into Joes Pizza they will give you a 10% discount on your next large pizza on me (the Realtor). The business owner is happy to give up the 10% just to get the business and the consumer will always remember the Realtor for the free incentive. If the Realtor sells a property they can offer their branded card for incentives at several local businesses as a welcome to the neighborhood. There are lot's of ways to use this type of cross marketing, we do it all the time.

Hope that stimulates the grey matter for ya.

      1) Do a search here for David Cisneros. Find his PLR Video for "Realtors" and buy it.

      2) Get a CallFire Phone # and add it to the Title of the Video and place the Phone # at the front page and back page....and direct the calls to a Non-Franchise Realtor.

      3) Upload David's video to your YT Channel with the Title; "homesforsaledenver - call 555-1234" (use your home town in place of Denver) and "get it RANKED for the Keywords..."Home for sale Denver CO - 555-1234"

      4) Watch your CallFire account for THAT #. When you see some calls coming in....call the realtor and tell him YOU have directed calls to HIS Phone # and if he'd like to continue receiving calls from people looking to buy Homes....pay me for the service or I will send the calls to another realtor.

Granted...there's a lot of stuff you need here BUT....out of the hundreds of real estate people in your town....ONE....will be willing to pay little ol' YOU.....at least $500 a month to get the calls OR....$50 a Call!

Anyway....it's ALL here on the WF. You just gotta hunt it out.

Lopaca- I am very interested in the cross-marketing idea since I've just started in real estate.

    Hoping you see this post...

    A couple of quick questions:

If you are giving your card to people to use as a discount card at a local retailer, are you using just a standard business card? If so, how are they keeping the card afterward, or are they just showing the owner then putting the card back in their wallet?

Also in your opinion, what's the best type of business to do this with?

Let me know if there is a way to contact you regarding your other ideas.

    Thanks

Reminds me of a project I did some yrs ago.

      I call it "KEEPER KARDS".

What I did was go around to local biz owners (Fast Food, Pizza Parlors, Beauty Salons, Clothes Cleaners, Bowling Alley...etc) offering them FREE exposure on the back of Realtors biz cards.

All they had to do was offer some kind of discount to people talking to Realtors.....some of whom will be buying a home.

I then made a deal with my printer where he would just charge me $25 for 1,000 cards (My present biz card supplier (March of 2014) only charges $17,50 per K) I then took some samples and sold them to local realtors for $175/K.

Now, WHY would real estate people pay me $175 for 1,000 biz cards when they could get them from a local printer for a fraction of that?

Because they could see the VALUE of giving out biz cards that would be KEPT and REMEMBERED whenever they were used to get a Special Discount at local biznesses.

WOW! That reminds me. Last year I showed an UN-employed guy how to do this.....how to get local biz owners to provide good offers (Cost them nothing until someone came in and asked for the discount) and....How to get Realtors to pay $175 for 1K of these "Keeper Kards".....where to get them printed for less than $25 and....POCKET $150 on every order.

See Photo below (Realtors regular card goes on front)

Thanks for the great idea, Midasman09.

Are those "Keeper Kards" the same size as a regular business card?

I looked at your sample and it looks like you have more than 10 businesses advertising so I wanted to know if it is the size of a regular business card or much bigger.

Agreed! Mobile Marketing is very powerful and personable, Also great for mobile appointment management to ensure fewer no-shows! Fill downtime and schedule deliveries efficiently and dont forget its a great way to build a buyers list using Keywords and QR codes.
When a prospect requests information they will get a link to a landing page (w/opt In) or a mobile website with pictures and info on the property and the agent will get a sales lead.

We have 59 agencies represented. SEO is hard in Realty. Mobile is hard. Honestly it goes right back to:

        1. Honest Marketing online
        2. Proper content practices
        3. Local by neighborhood marketing
        4. A IDX where you can do custom content marketing
        5. Strategy selling by SEO where people care - SEO Schools Homes for sale
        6. SEO types of homes in zip
        7. SEO by category city, zip, community, neighborhood, HOA, Sub Division.
        8. Get specific and then get more specific
        9. More Specific is 2 bdrm ranch 3 bdrm ranch (treat homes as product categories)
10 Use the IDX to create leads.....we built our own IDX to do this....pull data from Boards.

FIght Zillow with custom templates with info....

        Page layout-----

        Example Schools.

Legacy High School Area Homes for Sale h1
MLS listings near Legacy High N Las Vegas h2
        Photo
Homes In and Around Legacy High School h3
        Content writting
Search Legacy Homes For Sale h1
        Search Results posted
        Zip Codes
        Legacy High School Longhorns h2
        Legacy High Info and links
        Contact info call to action
        ------page layout

The most successful residential realtor I knew, knocked doors in neighborhoods she wanted to list properties in. She dominated those areas because she took the time to talk to and get to know people and most critical...learn about their situation.

She found "hot deals" that no one else had an inkling about. Some she listed. Some she bought or optioned.

    She had virtually no competition.

She made enough money and had enough income from her investment houses, to retire from active agency in just a couple of years.

Nothing, absolutely nothing beats face to face in that business.

In the business, this is called farming. It is a proven technique that works. Here is a technique I used when I was a CA real estate broker. I started with my CPA. Asked if he was interested in rentals. He said yes. I then asked if he knew of anyone else. He said yes.

Why would he say yes? One, he couldn't buy them all and two, he wanted to keep his wealthier clients.

I then moved on to CPA 2, 3, 4 etc. I didn't know them from Adam's house cat but I bet you can guess my opening line.

I tell you this assuming you want to immediately reach people with money. If not, disregard this post. Oh yeah, method 1 means your realtor friend will have to work her ass off for a couple of months but the work/pay ratio will be gigantic.

Good luck. You can PM me with your questions.

I think with the 'business services' sector, LinkedIn is an ideal way among the digital marketing options. Experiment with their adds and network in the groups.

Obviously, you will want to do most of the other digital marketing stuff i.e have a website, run an email marketing newsletter, use CRM etc.

Direct Mail sales letters are the most effective. I've been a copywriter for the real estate industry for 7 years, and Direct mail blows the other methods out of the water, every time.
Send a sales letter that offers both your services and a "buzz piece" like a free article you wrote - in exchange for their email address.

In short - direct mail is an oldie but a goodie

I looked at the "house" to 99000 but all I got back was a text reply with his phone number and a request for my email. I have a better one.. text nutmeg to 63975.. this interactive Mobile Web site gives buyers tons of info from that house and the "house icon" on the upper right gives the agents mobile site with a click button for ALL her listings.. this is one of AVID's modules and I really like it. I will let you know how it goes over with Real Estate Agents --- Give me YOUR feedback on this system.. I would love to hear good and bad comments - anything to help me see how this system is perceived, but frankly, if I were a Real Estate Agent, I wouldn't leave home without it~

Social media is great, especially if you can build relationships with businesses in your area. A great tactic is Strategic Alliances. Set up a referral system with some of the larger apartment communities near you. If they are doing their jobs right, typically they are asking what other options they are considering... if purchasing a house comes up they can refer to you and you can send people their way. My apartment complex used to give a commission to real estate people whom brought in renters.

Another way would be to team up with Chambers, Elks, etc clubs and give talks about what is happening in the market, give suggestions on how to increase home value, best ways to refi, etc (all strictly informational NOT selling!) Most of those clubs are always looking for speakers. Or host a monthly luncheon with similar info that you open to the public (you can use your apartment contacts and local businesses - attorneys, tax people, furniture stores, etc)

Why do you say that? What makes E-Mail Marketing a very good way to promote your real estate business?

Without answering the above, your post is useless.

I know many real estate agents. Most are all over the place and not successful. A few are successful. They have a narrow area they deal in. Some only represent buyers, some only represent sellers.

A while back, in an old neighborhood, there was this lady who sent everybody in the area a postcard when she got a house to sell (like, the day after she got the listing) and a postcard every time she was involved in the sale of a house in the neighborhood.

Walking through the neighborhood, I'd pass houses for sale. Most not by her. After a while, it seems almost every 'for sale' sign was hers.

Maybe that was the case, maybe she'd just brainwashed me into thinking so. In either case, had I had a house for sale, or wanted to buy one, her name popped up instantly.

I know some listing here that you could use to promote your real estate etc. Email marketing can be successful unless you scrape a lot of prospect business contacts in the internet and also social media are good when it comes to listing your properties. Hope these could help you..
