Get your business card in their hands
I see people almost embarrassed to hand out a business card. They wait till the very end of a conversation, then walk away almost right after handing it to you. These are primarily the beginning mlm or network marketing people.
PUT YOUR CARD IN SOMEONE'S HAND WHEN YOU FIRST MEET THEM!
One real easy trick to bring this up in a conversation is to ask your prospect for his/her card. I'd say 90% of the time they may not have one, but now you can say, "Oh, well here's mine. I'm an in home computer tutor and one of the best virus removal specialists on Oahu. I think I have one of the few cards that doesn't end up in a dresser drawer lol." Many times there are questions, if not, "What do you do" Now I listen....
Watch their eyes for the blank polite stare. If you get it, you're talking too much about yourself. Ask the prospect about him/her. Job, family, favorite restaurant.
