System to track restaurant servers for contest

I want to increase signups for a restaurant's email list.

One tactic I want to implement is a contest as an incentive for servers to get their customers to sign up for the email list.

I use AWeber - I don't know what kind of POS the restaurant has.

I would appreciate ideas or references to resources on how to track individual servers who get their customers to sign up to the list.

Thank you!

You might want to consider an SMS list rather than email. You can then just have customers text in the servers' first name to get on the list. Set up keywords and lists for each server. You can always consolidate the list into one down the road, but this would be an easy way to track the number of subscribers for each server who participates.

My problem with SMS is that I cant find a provider to send mass SMS messages at reasonable prices!

I just noticed your links in your signature, maybe there's a clue in there?

Thank you xlfutur1 - I want to consider SMS in the near future but for right now, the client wants to build the email list.

Any suggestions for tracking servers who are responsible for adding subscribers to the email list?

What do you consider a reasonable price? With volume Lime can get down to .5 cents per text which I see as cheap. Even at 2 cents per text that is cheap really.

Three ways to do this and make it easy plus up conversions.

    1. Have a tablet(s) that the girls can bring out to the guest to have them sign up right there. Then merely have a question listed for Server and they can fill it out. Could even have a different form for each girl that auto populates that info.

    2. Make the form mobile friendly and have the server help them sign up on their phone. Once again same serve name spot.

    3. Have a physical card they fill out and people later enter in. (IMO not as effective)

A 4th but way less effective way is to hand out a card and have that card have a code to enter or go to a specific site for each server. But now you are hoping they do it at home.

Of course other than "server name" you can have them enter a code on any of the above methods. They will think the code is to get ______ deal when the code is really just to track servers.

Thanks Aaron, While I knew about other providers with similar pricing, I havn't found any with unlimited features such as lime. Its just that maybe I am expecting the list to grow too fast xD (lol, maybe that's unrealistic).

At one point, I would like to have my own hardware/software for sending sms, but Lime will work for now, Thanks.

you can program the POS to print out a sign up form right on the receipt, the server will remind the customer and server ID is already on it as a field and can be tracked. could include a free app or dessert for signing up for an incentive.

    Make it EASY for them.

another idea is get buttons for servers to wear, maybe a QR for customers to scan along w/ table tent.
