Hey, I'm new to the forum and joined because I'm looking for someone that would like to study pricing strategy. We'd be studying this together and there is absolutely no cost other than the cost of the book.

This isn't about pricing decisions like "do I price this at $29 or $49?" but genuine pricing strategy. The type of thought process that went into pricing the iPhone when it was first launched and any truly successful product.

A little about me - I'm the head of sales and marketing at one of the fastest growing b2b startups in NY. Our product costs 60x the alternative and yet we can hardly keep up with demand.

If you're interested we'd be studying this topic together and here's how it works:

Textbook: The Strategy and Tactics of Pricing - A Guide to Profitable Decision Making, 3rd Edition by Thomas T. Nagle and Reed K. Holden.
Course Layout: Each week we study two chapters in the text.
Length of course: 7 weeks, estimated 3 - 4 hours per week.
Tests, quizzes, and assignments: Each week each student makes a test for the other student that covers that week's chapters.
Test structure: Each test will be a combination of 15 multiple choice, 7 short answer, and 3 essay questions.
Requirements: No formal background or experience is required but I recommend that you have a general level of business knowledge and understand simple breakeven calculations.

This is a completely new way to study a subject. It is peer to peer learning. You're forced to learn subjects quickly, the same way that you do / did in college.

But you are also the teacher.

This gives you an unprecedented learning opportunity. This condenses learning an unbelievably valuable subject into just 7 weeks and truly gives you a level of mastery beyond what you could if you were to study almost any other way. You are the student and the teacher. This is so powerful because making a test requires that you already understand the topic.

We'll be learning this subject together. Since we're learning it at the same time and building off of one another we develop an impressively detailed understanding of the topic in a very short period of time.

How?

You may find certain sections in a chapter incredibly insightful and important. Those areas will be what you ask about on your tests for me. I may find different areas to be extremely valuable and therefore, I will ask you questions which cover those topics. This is why peer to peer learning is so valuable.

If you're interested in studying and mastering "The Strategy and Tactics of Pricing" please respond to this post. The course will start in 2 weeks so please reach out immediately.

Thank you,
NickBo
