In my endeavor to bring you the best resources (no signups) to help you build your offline business, I have interviewed John Logar (fellow Warrior) on a strategy he put together and implemented to get over $260,000 worth of client work from Networking.

    Networking is powerful! Trust me, I know how powerful it is. All you need is just one person to lead you to another person, and then there you go, instant cash and potential long term clients.

    NEVER UNDERESTIMATE ANYBODY YOU SPEAK TO OR EMAIL WHEN SELLING THEM SOMETHING. BE NICE TO EACH OF THEM. THEY MIGHT LEAD YOU TO A FIVE FIGURE CUSTOMER!

    good podcasts Chris , I, like you, thought people would see right through some of this (marketing guy at a specialist conference only there for one reason.....) and maybe in the UK they are more likely to or maybe I'm just too negative on that , that's not knocking the advice given though, I'm sure it works and some of the content was priceless , enjoyed listening to it, done in easy format, you gave him the reins and let him run with it, best way IMO, let him get into the flow and he did.

    opened my eyes esp the bit about .......................ahh listen to it yourselves .

    strategies for getting on the top table were top bananas mate

    Got to admit I struggle going into some network meetings, loads of people milling around, who to talk to, who to get away from, too much small talk for me most times but your approach to getting in and being 'noticed/introduced', oh yes I love it .

    Possibly a bit late for my next outing tomorrow but a cert for some future events.

    Now I go to ones run by Cardiff University Business school , Cardiff Business Club and Leadership & Management Wales ones, used to go to those yearly subscription ones for a bit but they were a waste of time all about building the ego of the organiser . The three I attend now, plus the odd one offs quality meets, I am better with now but I liked the idea to get on the main table and be introduced by the organiser and that will be useful for future meets.

    But I am also interested in John's approach to the association meetings

      The associated meetings is a great tactic.

      I have started to do this in terms of going to manufacturing events. I attended one the other week where most of the people were managing directors of companies and I was the only internet marketer (although I didn't call myself that).

      Picked up two really good leads just from that one event and booked myself into more.

    Thanks for posting these Chris. I finally had a chance to listen to them on the treadmill last night. Some really good info on networking. Love the plastic surgeon networking ideas he shared. I am i talks with a plastic surgeon now and I picked up some tips o how to market his practice.

      Plenty of gold nuggets in here! I have a different problem when I network and give away tips like John suggested -- I get them on the phone and totally drop the ball each time. Awful sales person. Any advice? Looking forward to part 3.
