No. Hosting is one of those areas in life where you can pretty much live by the mantra - you get what you pay for.

I always recommend Servint.net VPS because their support and uptime is remarkable. However, most people scoff at the entry level $49.99 price tag (... you can host hundreds of low volume sites on this VPS no problem).

Thanks for the recommendation! Yea, a little pricey, but like you said, in the long run should be less worries then with going with a cheaper shared hosting account!

I can def. see the potential with this service when it comes to affiliate marketing, CPA, etc.... But I wasn't so sure if it was the right tool for doing offline marketing.

There is another hosting service by Amazon... Amazon Web Services, Cloud Computing: Compute, Storage, Database but looks more involved and complicated.

They seem to be using Amazon, so I don't think they are going to have down time or unreliability issues. Honestly I find most well known hosting companies do a rather good job.

I am part of the Insty.me platform - although I do still have plenty of other hosting packages as well.

The site says the hosting is "bomb proof" & running on Amazon, so it should be secure.

It does have some great features, I like the mailer using Amazon SES only paying $.10 per thousand subscribers.

I think the Insty.me platform/product has only been out maybe 6 months now. Probably why i cant find much in the way of reviews about it on forums

Define "suitable" hosting platform a little better...

Are you looking for a company that specializes in "hosting" or someone that throws a bunch of stuff together "fluff software" in hopes of having the next big "walmart" of web hosts?

Unfortunately, you'll learn that over time, the quality of service drops with most of these types of services since it's a "jack of all trades, master of none" type situation.

I'd recommend keeping your hosting with a n actual company that specializes in it and your software needs elsewhere.

Also, being based on "Amazon" doesn't make anything more reliable or secure. Chances are, it's still run on single instances in single places. Security, well...has nothing to do with Amazon. Amazon has also had its fair share of outages, which usually trickle down the line to tons of people through services based on AWS.

bbminded, Yes! Our service is perfect for offline clients and we have a couple ways that you can go about using Insty.me.

One way is offering hosting to your offline clients through our reseller accounts where you would essentially become the 'host' and offer cPanel accounts to your customers. In this case, you would charge your client whatever you wish and be in contact with them directly. The only downside to this is that the Insty.me tools are available only to the Insty.me account holder (you in this case). They would not be available to your clients.

Another way that Insty.me can be a great fit for an online company is to recommend your client sign up with Insty.me directly, so they can take advantage of our marketing tools and software and use them for their business. By doing this, they sign up under your affiliate link and then you are able to earn commissions on the account.

For example, many people have been signing up companies like Chiropractors, who may not be using marketing tools like email list marketing. They will recommend Insty.me to the Chiropractor using their affiliate link, and we will do the work of moving their site over to us (if they have an existing site).

It works out great for all involved.

Yes, in the second screen during signup, there is an option to choose the 6 month, 1 or 2 year plan at a significant discount.

      Thanks for the questions!

I didn't find much about it, but here's a WF thread about it: http://www.warriorforum.com/internet...e-hosting.html

I'd choose a reputable host that's been around for a long time. No HostGator, Bluehost, etc. junk though.

Some good ones you can check out are Arvixe, Hawk Host, MDD Hosting, Site5, StableHost, and Veerotech.

      Thanks for the mention here.

As always, do research first and ask lots of questions.

Hi bbminded, just my two bobs worth...

As far as I am concerned, hosting is hosting nowadays, technically speaking.

The most important thing is service. If there is a problem you need help with,
you often need a result quickly.

Nick is someone who strives to give you a solution.

I use Insty.me for all of my sites. I also run sites for customers and do the
setup myself, unless it is too technical, and Nick fixes things in a jiffy. :>)

Several times he has made me personal videos to explain something to me, or
introduce a new feature that he thought may be suitable for me.

Personal service like that is hard to come by.

        Regarding Offline clients...

The small business clients I have no nothing about website building or marketing,
and really don't want to. They just want the damn thing, and are pleased when
they get some extra business through their site. They have enough work to do
just running there own business and are glad to just have it done.

        I can't recommend Nick's service more highly.

I'm no programmer, but I can get by most of the time but it is nice to know he
has my back when the @#$% hits the fan so to speak... and it does!

You could go a lifetime and not find service like this.

        cheers, Mal.
