No, it's not right. The cartoon shows that the prospect doesn't know about the Gatling gun (or whatever it is).

Any smart salesman would just Yell "Hey! Watch This!", and he would fire into the enemy, or even a tree. The power of that demonstration would mesmerize the knight. Now, he would have to have one...at any price. It would make him a Hero...maybe King.

And now, the knights on the other side would need the guns too. Any salesman worth his salt would demonstrate the darn thing, and change the world.

Probably not for the better, but he would make a fortune.

The power of a startling demonstration.

      ^ This guy...

      Claude is right.

This cartoon sums up the truth behind everything actually. This is really a real life example of reality. This cartoon is the perfect example of why many fail...

The image is indeed funny. Though it does have a point. The power of startling demonstration is quite true here. It is better for any salesman to properly show his stuff (what it does) in a blunt way possible. Catching their attention first with something that startles them can definitely worth it. In the end, its all about getting that fortune.

Something very similar to this DID happen in the 20th century:

    Ostfriesland

"changes in military systems come about only through the pressure of public opinion or disaster in war." -General Mitchell

This DID lead to the creation of the US Air force some years down the road but Mitchell was eventually court-martialed for making the US Navy lose face.

Funny and true on a couple of levels. The look on the salesmen face says why me when he should be firing the Gatling gun as Claude pointed out.

What I like about this cartoon (besides a laugh) is it does open us up
to 'what would I do next?'. Perhaps once the salesman got the brush-off
      he did take action.

Write your own second half but know it usually starts off exactly like this.
