I need some advice. I opened a new branch for my office in a nearby city. The 1st thing I did was get the phone number, so that I could start building citations. I used a company called Whitespark.

3 places they did not do citations was Google, Yahoo and Bing. I confirmed Bing easily by postcard and then used Yext for Yahoo. For some reason, Google called to confirm. Unfortunately, the new showroom was still being built out and my phones were forwarded to another office. The address that my secretary gave didn't match. About a week later, I got a postcard and verified the ad. It has been in pending status for 2 months.

Is there anything I can do? I've got a big investment in this new place and not getting on google places really defeats the purpose of having the location.

Just delete the listing and start over. Just to be sure, sign up a new google account from a different IP address, and then recreate the listing with the right phone number(make sure it is forwarded to you) and address. Should work just fine, I've done it before after getting in a situation similar to this.

I keep phones forwarded to my cell phone for atleast 2 months to make sure anyone who is trying to call to verify hears exactly what they need to hear from me

You can't set up a listing for a location that is not open yet, so that was the 1st mistake.

No don't delete and start over. Just call support and get the original listing working. Just explain what happened and as long as the location is open for business you should be good. But make sure your site does not still have any messaging anywhere that says "opening soon" or anything.

I see your point but not a good idea to change phone numbers - it breaks NAP. Best to use one and stick to it. Easier to just write a script and make sure anyone that answers the phone knows how to answer Google moderator questions in case they call.

Yep agree with Linda. Call them. She suggested I call about a problem I was having and it was amazing to actually speak to someone at Google. It took several calls to fix the problem but it would have been almost impossible if I couldn't speak to someone/
