Elance, Odesk, Guru, Freelancer.com

Hey guys,

In my effort to get case studies / results/ experience/ some income flowing and develop my fulfillment strategies for marketing services, I'm getting to work with the above bidding sites. I was just curious as to which of the 4 do you think is the best for finding serious clients and not just tire kickers and people who want to waste time?

I'm aware that you need good feedback and a bidding plan - I just was curious of those who have experimented with these 4 sites, which had the poorest job listings vs the more professional clients.

    Elance had the most professional clients for me... clients that were willing to pay for my time, and not just in peanuts.

    Hey Harry

    I have had really great experiences with Elance and i have been able to close some really great deals and work with nice and diligent people. I would definitely recommend this site.

    Also, this site is full of many people who are new to the internet marketing world and freelancing business. Many would take advantage of newbies here but i see it as a great opportunity to show them the ropes and actually help them make an informed buying decision. Building lifelong relationships and trust is always first and this site is great for that.

    I only deal with elance now, once you find the good workers there, stick with them, Alot better than the other ones mentioned. Elance quality has actually gotten better over the years I think.

    I like elance, but what you have to understand is the outsourcers that are on elance, are probably on guru, freelancer, etc. I recently posted a project on elance and then on guru a couple days later. For the most part, i had the same exact replies from elance, as I did from guru so it's kinda a wash.

      While some of them have accounts on all of the sites, I got different replies on all sites as well. Guru is a disorganized mess. I always hated both buying and selling there. Elance provided a full time income for years and I've always been very happy when sourcing to Elance providers. Freelancer clients paid peanuts when I was a provider. Not worth my time selling there. After they took over scriptlance, I was ripped off for $500 from a programmer, so I don't use freelancer for sourcing.

    I have used Odesk over the past few years with great success. On a side note, I have got several new clients hiring me from ODesk. I positioned myself as one of the highest paid consultants on Odesk and Elance. I only apply for positions that pay a fixed rate over $2,000.00

    Yup, I have to say that Elance is a great option. There are tons of people on there.

    Yeah, there are def some people on Elance who are also on other sites.

    But I do have to say that Elance is great because of how they organize the whole site.

    I`ve been using Elance since 2010. So far there has been no issue with the problems with it. Alot of paying customers.
