        I am going to probably hit you hard... but I will open with a word of advice... RUN do not walk, away from this.

        Your "Buddy" is obviously real good at what he / she does. Landing 10 new contracts a day. that in itself is good stuff. You join on because you can see the potential. The "Potential" is obvious. but the REAL catch... WHAT do you and your buddy know about SEO?

        How in the world can you provide a service you know nothing about? OH.. that's right, you are using inexpensive offshore labor. Seems to be getting your buddy real far. they are probably dropping at about the same rate they are getting them.

        I will tell you this... there is A LOT of money in SEO if you know what you are doing. I can tell right off the bat, you do not know what you are doing.

        So why is there A LOT of money in SEO? Because it is tedious detailed work if done CORRECTLY. Every page title has to be gone over, every image has to be gone over every H1 - H6 title has to be gone over. The text of each page has to be gone over. Every meta tag has to gone over. Every link has to be gone over. do you get the idea?

        $199 a month? for a 5 page website maybe. My SEO only packages START at 25x your monthly billing. Ill say that again, My SEO only packages START at 25x your monthly billing.

        Maybe you need to either find a SOLID resource to send your clients to, or re-gear and use your buddies abilities to bring leads in for something else that you can get better results with.

          We are definitely looking for a good source to outsource the SEO.

          The reason I posted to begin with was because they know nothing of seo and are getting clients daily. I want to help them in doing it right.

          I have experience in facebook ads. That was one of my thoughts.

    For $199/month it's not worth it for anyone who actually knows what their doing and can actually help them to do it for such a low price point.

    The absolute minimum I'll charge is $499 - (so I can flip them into a larger campaign once I'd delivered some results). But most of my clients that are on page 1, are paying over $1,000/month. But since I'm charging the rates I do - I have the resources for top quality work. At $200/month there's just no meat left on the bone for most of us.

      Thank you I was advising we charge $299 a month but I think we are running into cheap business owners.

      We need to find a solid seo company to outsource this work.


      Here is my other dilemma, even if we rank first page for a pool man how much business can he really get?

      Even if we charged $499 a month, it's not worth it to him. Flyers might work better, just my thought.

    How are you currently getting 10 clients daily? Is that from calling/greeting then following up and closing and facebook ads?

      I charge $6,000 up front, and then $199 a month after that.

      The only reason I'm telling you that, is that I get more static from the $199 a month than from the six grand. They want to know "What am I getting for $199 a month?"

      The reason you are getting so many cancellations, is that the don't see the value. The $199 a month needs to be sold stronger. And they need to see something happen every month. A report of what's happening on their site, would help. A report on the added links, the better Google positioning.

      Also, you may want to charge a one time set up fee. If they pay more up front, the $199 doesn't sound so bad. Maybe a $499 up front fee.

      You can also put them on a 12 month contract. This will stop most of the cancellations, but will reduce your sales slightly.

      What is the average number of months a client stays?

      What are they getting for $199 a month?

        I honestly don't know how to answer you. what can you offer for $199 a month or $299 a month? a phone call maybe? but its not like you are indicating you are an expert in anything. You obviously don't know much about SEO... you have done some facebook advertising...

        I took my family out to dinner Sunday night. Wife 2 kids and my wifes grandparents, the bill was $206 before tip. The service was great, The food was great. It was a cheap night out as far as I was concerned. Everyone was happy. The Restaurant knew what they were doing, and my family got what they expected. That's a win win.

        That's something that you are NOT offering right now. If I am happy to pay $206 for dinner think what I am willing to pay to someone that knows what they are doing in regards to getting one of my web properties more targeted traffic.

        You and your buddy need to sit down and figure out what it is you can sell that you at least will be able to look over and tell if your offshore help are doing their jobs at least. Ensuring that Your clients are happy. Because if your clients are happy... YOU will be happy.

        Right now the way I see it... you are just ripping people off! bottom line.. BAD BUSINESS.
