My "new" cell phone was not compatible with the Paypal triangle so I ordered The Square. Any tips about using it?

I have the paypal triangle, and it works really well - but it's really ugly and kinda clunky. At least it is for my iphone. I think the square reader is nicer looking but unfortunately never used it.

That's the advantage of iPhone. All version of it support the same apps. Android is open source and varies though it's, last I read, 80% of the cellular market.

Don't worry about it. If you can- go with square. It's a great little card reader.

Just follow the square instructions. It's very, very easy to use. I use it on my phone and tablet for when I do sales at events.

It is super simple to use. Just be sure, when using it to run cards over the phone, to back everything up with email receipts to the customer. You know create an electronic document trail, as proof of transaction validity. Just in case you have any future disputes.

Also, make sure you have you policy and terms stated precisely on your website. CYA for any potential chargebacks.

Square now let's you send invoices to customers at the same rate as swiping.

No more having to take CC numbers over the phone at a higher rate.

The only thing I wish Square had was a voluntary link for customers to use on their own in order to pay, something like the PayPal button. As it is now I have to ask a customer if they are going to pay with CC and then send a Square invoice manually.

Square for the win! I use it at my restaurant and my waiters take payments at the table. It's funny how everyone thinks my little piece of food real estate is so high tech. To be honest, it was much cheaper than a typical POS system.
