Google Adsense still Profitable?

Hey there, I was planning on trying to start a blog to try and earn enough money to get away from my horrible home situation (probably not the most immediate solution considering most say it takes over a year to make a profitable blog but anyway) and the first thing you usually hear in terms of making money is adsense. The thing is though, ive been hearing alot of people say that adsense isnt really worth it anymore - for some undisclosed reason. I hear some say they hardly pay much anymore, or I hear some say that adblock is a serious problem. Can anyone shed some light on this? Is adsense still a worthwhile form of income? Thank you.

Of course, it is. There are plenty of blogs making thousands of dollars every month, week, and even day.
But it takes a lot of time and efforts to create a good blog (website) to monetize it via AdSense.
You are on forum about online marketing, that's why it is accepted here to be thinking of making money through selling other people's products.
    1 sell a day = $30-100 a day.
But you have spent a looooooooooooot of time to make $30-100 a day from Google.

Also, as Google constantly changes their policies and guidelines you might find it hard to get your website accepted in the program in the first place. In case you already got apporved then I would say the first hard part is done and then comes the second hard part, putting time into your blog and making it good enough to constantly attract enough traffic to make you money. This, just like Kalambur said, takes a whole lot of time, however depending on how good you are at it, you could have a money making blog up in a few weeks, months or if you are slower than years, but anyways services such as Adsense have always been profitable to the right persons and will most certainly still stay profitable for a long time. Still not everyone can make money with it and that's just the way it is!

The reason isn't undisclosed, you just said it yourself, AdBlock is one of the problems! Many people use the plugin, yes, but not everyone! So, the more traffic you have, the bigger the chances people will click on he ads, if they're interested.

Now, another aspect you should know about is the niche. Not all niches are profitable. Some niches still pay well, others pay close to nothing!

Thanks for the replies everyone. This is kind of irrelevant, but is there a way to find out how much a "niche" pays ad-wise? It'd be nice to know if the niche of my blog will end up being worth it money-wise before actually starting it.

I don't think you can do the exact math to find out, but what you need to keep in mind is that "difficult" niches are usually the ones that pay more than the "saturated" ones. What's your niche, by the way?

It may turn into only loss if you are not careful in placement or traffic comes to your website, you should be very careful with content in your website, where you place ad and which visitors comes to your website, I know you may not have control on your traffic, though even if its not your fault, adsense will penalize you only for that, so you need to make sure you have control on it, otherwise reason or no reason once you get blocked you will get blocked for forever

Well, AdSense has no perfect alternative, it is the best online advertising network on the internet.
While applying for AdSense keep few things in your mind.
Make sure your domain is 6 month older
Secondly you are getting 4-5K daily traffic from search engine,
Thirdly include about me and privacy policy widget
At last, your have published more than 40 articles on your blog...
    Hope done the question

    Hi Dude,

Adsense is the best one if you have good content marketing websites with any nichie. Ofcourse depends on the nichie you are selected , you will be paid . Because some advertisers pay more when others less.
    So all the best.

My personal opinion is don't waste your time on adsense. There are lot of ways to make money online. CPA, creating micro-niche blog(eg CB or amazon), creating an ebook and sell online(you can outsource if you are not good at writing)..

Though google adsense policies have been changing day by day and Google adopting strict rules to accept websites for adsense you can still earn a lot of money from this source.

Its not a very easy task so you have to work on building a quality website or blog that can be helpful for more number of people.
If you are deciding for blog then first spare some time on thinking and finding a suitable topic that people love to talk about.

Google adsense has only gotten better.
Those people who say adsense is not worth it anymore don't have a damn clue of how it works.

I agree that it takes time because most of the niches are competitive but it has gotten better.

Yes, google adsense still profitable, but need time and commitment. i make money from adsense by running news website, and all whitehat and manual post! no auto post plugin/tools or something like auto. (need lots of time, but i enjoy it)

AdSense is still profitable, you just need to change the way you think about Adsense sites!

I am a living proof of it.

This is the Adsense earning for today.

Never ever build your site for Adsense, but build it instead for your target audience!

I never had any issues with AdBlock cause my traffic always take care of it.

As my traffic increases over the days, so do my earnings.

Establish a quality site and visitor will flow and so will your earnings.

Currently, I have about 4 sites and also a new site is on the pipeline.

Forget the idea of building AdSense site.

Build a site with valuable content for your audience instead.

I have layout a post to give some guidelines on how to start below:

I like to ask again as other claim is OK will not get your account close.

my main site already approved by adsense.

I was thinking to add adsense add on my crappy blog to squeeze some cents or even a dollar.

but wonder it will break TSO rules

Suffice to say AdSense still works. The difficult part is getting enough content and traffic on your blog to actually start earning a good amount of money.

Adsense is the lowest effort way to monetize a website. It will make money but only if you can generate large amounts of traffic.

Adsense is a decent starting place for beginner internet marketers, but should definitely not be your end game plan.
