Hi everyone.

I need to calculate Search Imp Share from the data I have. I have Clicks, Impressions, CTR, Avg CPC, Cost, Avg position, Conversions, CPL and Conv rate.

How do i calculate Search Imp share from that data? Its an exercise and i only have that data to hand. Is this even possible?

I've google the calculation and the only one i can find is: The percentage of impressions that you received for searches that exactly matched your keyword divided by the estimated number of exact match impressions you were eligible to receive.

However with the data i have this is no help.

Can some please help!? I would appreciate any help I'm very stuck

Thank You

You want to find out search impression share of exact match keywords? That's very difficult from the aggregate data unless you have only exact match keywords in ad group or campaign.

Second thing is, you can start using third party affiliate tracking software like has offers. But in that case, the data you have has no meaning.

You don't mention if this is an Adwords campaign but if so, Adwords does give you the impression share percentage. Other ad networks may or may not have that information. If not, the only way to calculate it is to have the number of searches for your keywords. That's what you are missing.

I suppose first we have to define impression share. Maybe your definition is not what mine is. Impression share is the percentage of impressions you get over all searches available for the keyword. So if there are 100 searches a day and your ads showed for 90 of them, your IS is 90%. That's Google's definition and the one that is obvious given the metric's name.
