I run PPC Campaign for my real estate business and my per day budget is Rs.5000 I use manual bidding. to keep my ad on top position. My ad is served on 1st or 2nd (rarely) position. Because of top position my ads get clicked and my budget is run out till 4 o'clock. After that my ad is not served. Please advise me what should i do, so my ad could be shown the whole day. I can not increase the budget. Should i schedule my campaign or use automatic bidding.

there should be an option called "spread my budget evenly throughout the day". somewhere in your campaign settings.
your getting clicks and thats the point. if there not converting try to track why. maybe your keywords arent converting or your landing page sucks or whatever the case may be.
but clicks is what you want and the data from the clicks is what you need.
maybe provide more specifics and ill try to help

  • Ditto, check that spread budget setting. I advise being in control of your campaign and not let automatic settings do it for you, that includes bidding. So I think you are doing the right thing by bidding manually.

The other thing is that your budget is not high enough. Given the search volume for your keywords and your click rate, you are not reaching all of your prospects since your budget is running out. Now if the campaign is profitable, why not reach 100% of the searchers in your market? Check the Impression Share percentage and that will give you an idea of the clicks you are missing and how much to increase the budget by.

While I would argue that running larger, more complex campaigns almost always benefits from some form of automation, in your case it may not be cost effective to do so.

That said, in this case I feel that the wrong question is being asked, and that bidding and scheduling are not the issues here. More important: "Is the campaign profitable at present?" - that is, are you making more money by providing your product/services than you're putting into Adwords?

If not, then as mentioned by tscx420, you should go back to your analytics and figure out where things are going wrong and fix them. Conversion Rate Optimization should start from the very first click you pay for.

If you are making money and the campaign is profitable, then I would advise you to up the budget to cover the extra hours as mentioned by LucidWebMarketing.. after all if you're running your campaign at a profit, why wouldn't you?

    Hi mamtasoni,

I have to ask, have you set a specific goal for your campaign?

First, set a goal, then choose a strategy that is most effective for achieving that goal.

Your approach to bid management should take into consideration your actual goals for your campaign. You need to choose a goal and then base your bidding strategy on achieving that goal.

If your goal is to maximize the number of clicks for a fixed budget then your strategy and tactics need to be much different from a campaign that has a goal of maximizing profit.

If your goal is to maximize the number of clicks for a fixed budget than you need to reduce your bids slightly to achieve that goal.

If however, your goal is to maximize profits then you need to reduce spending on less profitable segments while increasing your ad spend on more profitable segments. You will be able to reach maximum profitability faster when you increase you daily budget limit high enough to avoid a budget restricted campaign.

Lower your bids in campaigns that are "limited by budget"
While counterintuitive, slightly lowering your bids in campaigns that are marked "limited by budget" could potentially help you earn more clicks. Lowering bids for budget-constrained campaigns could reduce the average amount you pay when someone clicks your ads, with the potential for your budget to go further and get more clicks. Lowering bids too much, however, could result in fewer clicks if your bids are no longer competitive. If you choose to decrease your bids, check your campaign a few days later to ensure that you haven't lowered your bids too much.

Let AdWords automatically bid for you
An alternative to lowering your bids yourself is to allow AdWords to automatically set bids for you. There are multiple types of automated bid strategies, each designed to help you reach a specific goal for your business, such as increased clicks or conversions.

Change your delivery method from "Accelerated" to "Standard"
Accelerated delivery is likely to use up your campaign's daily budget early in the day. This is because accelerated delivery shows your ads until your budget is reached. "Standard" delivery is more optimized, which means that the delivery of your ads is spread more evenly throughout the day.

If you're using manual bidding, by default your campaign will be set to "Standard." It's not possible to use "Accelerated" delivery with automated bidding.

    Use your campaign's recommended budget
AdWords shows recommended budgets for campaigns that repeatedly meet their daily budget but have the potential to earn more clicks and impressions. You can use these recommendations to estimate how a new budget may improve the visibility of your campaign's ads.

When there is a high search on the targeted keywords and have limited or targeted budget then below are the recommendations: -

1- Hope you have added the Conversion code on the THANK YOU page already, if yes then analyze the conversions after 30 days and optimise your campaign Day and hourly wise so that your campaign will run on those specific days and hours and help you generate more conversions.

2- If your objective is to keep your ad at the top position only then use the Target search page location bid strategy if not and want Conversions then use Maximize Conversion option.

Click here to see all the other bid strategies available in Google PPC.

It is really very tough to show the ads whole day with the limited budget, you can optimise the campaign according to your goal from the campaign.

Actually, manual bidding is good option to get more relavant clicks. If you want serve your ads throughout the day, first you have to analyse in which time you can get more clicks, then you can schedule your ads.

In my suggestion you should select Automatic Bidding, Because competition changes every time so if we are selecting Automatic Bidding in Google Adwords then Google will automatically update bids whenever competition changes.
