Help with Conversion Tag not appearing in Google Tag Assistant

Hi there,

I wondered if I could get some advice.

I have set up Google Tag Manager and added the conversion tracking tag and the Google Analytics Tag. Using the plug-in, Google Tag Assistant, I can see the Google Tag Manager tag but the conversion tag is not showing up within Google Tag Assistant.

Can anybody share with me why this is the case? Within Google Adwords the conversion action is presented as unverified at present.

In Google Tag manager both Google Analytics and Conversion tags are showing up so I'm slightly unsure why I can't see the conversion tag in Tag Assistant.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi Elena,

    Sounds like you have not yet "Published" the changes you made within your Google Tag Manager to the "Container" that is on your website.

    Whenever you add a tag to the Google Tag Manager it appears in the "Workspace" section of the GTM web app. You can preview "Workspace" changes from there by switching to "Preview Mode", however changes will not be active on your website until you "Publish" your "Workspace" changes.

    As a "Best Practice" you should get into the habit of previewing and debugging your Workspace changes before publishing them to the GTM Container. The Preview mode allows you to inspect and verify Tags, Triggers, and Variables prior to publishing to a live website.

    Agree with Don Burk.
    It's necessary that you should preview and debug the tags you created in Google tag Manager before publishing. It will help you identify the errors then n there and allow you to inspect which tags fired and in which order.
    Make sure to publish the container each time make changes.
