How To Find The Best Keywords

Below is a chapter from my soon to be released Kindle Book. This is the whole chapter verbatim. I hope this will help you with your keyword research for your blogs and for you websites. My soon to be released book's title:

How To Blog Using WordPress

Chapter 7

I hope you aren't getting anxious because we haven't started setting up your Blog yet.

There is just too much important information you really need to know before you can just jump right in. I know, many books you've seen or read say you can have your Blog up and running in 30 minutes or less.

All I can say to that is - Those aren't Quality Blogs... They are similar to a new house under construction, and they still need a LOT of work to be viable.

Believe me, we will get to your Blog as soon as we possibly can, once you are fully ready to go online and start taking orders.

Why is MY process so much slower than what you've read about for years? Think about this, after purchasing and reading only you know how many books on Blogging, why are you looking at ANOTHER BLOGGING BOOK?

My guess is that all those other books only told part of the story on blogging, how to set up a blog, and how to REALLY set up a profitable blog. Am I close?

Anyway, I'm not out to make a fortune on you by selling you information piece meal. I want to ensure that when you set up your blog for the first time, and of course, any additional blogs you may install at a later date, that they are set up using proper methodologies.

Anybody can set up a blog. It isn't rocket science. However, Not everyone can set up a blog properly.

The biggest problem with most people who set up blogs, the majority are the type that just jump in and rush to completion. They have no real idea of what it takes to set up a blog other than install the script, add a few pages, a few article posts, maybe some Adsense in the sidebar and header areas, and they honestly believe they are really bloggers.

These are the individuals who usually have the worst blogs, receive no traffic and then complain later that they've done everything they could to be successful. They then blame everyone else for their 'bad luck', especially the people who sold them the last 3 or 4 Blogging books they purchased... Ü

I'm writing this book in such a manner that while some of the topics may "technically" have nothing to do with blogging as you or almost every new blogger may believe, I am saying if you honestly take the time to follow my lead and the steps provided you in this book, you will have an excellent chance to be successful with your very first blog, right from the beginning.

Here's the definition of Blogging: Blogging is the act of posting content on a blog (a Web log or online journal) or posting comments on someone else's blog.

That's it -the whole complete definition! See why I say ANYONE can blog?

This chapter will more than likely be the largest chapter in the book. The reason for that is that without proper keyword research, your blog will be just another piece of Internet Real Estate that nobody knows about, nor will they able to find your blog, and for all intents and purposes your blog is basically the same as space junk encountered in our upper atmosphere.

Think of yourself and keyword research as You being the Bank with a foreclosure property. You are trying to get your prospects to visit and buy this property. If you don't present the property to them correctly, they won't stop by the bank to see what type of deal or information you have for them.

Think of your keywords as the information buyers are anxiously seeking to find out how to purchase that foreclosed piece of property. Once they "enter" your bank (blog) they will want to spend time seeing more foreclosed properties (articles/books/services) and maybe spend their money.

Pretty crazy analogy, but, online real estate is the business you are in when you put up a website or a blog. Make sure you set it up properly from the start to provide your customers an informative visit so they will keep coming back, and eventually find the property (product/service/article) they are seeking.

Now, let's get back to the business at hand and find some keywords for YOUR Blog.

Besides research to find a Niche for your blog, Keyword Research is the next most important aspect of blogging. If you fail to do your keyword research properly, you'll eventually find that most people who are in need of your products, services or article content won't even know you or your blog exist.

Have you ever wanted to buy a Kindle reader? What if you didn't know it was from Amazon.com and were sold through them? How would you find it? I'm willing to bet you would get online, type in "Kindle" into the search portion of your home page.
Well, the word Kindle, if you didn't know or realize it, is what is called a Keyword. The keyword - Kindle - can best be described as the specific term used by you to search and find something specific such as a product or service on the Internet.

In this instance you wanted to find a Kindle reader to purchase so you could read more of my books as they are added to Amazon. Ü

And, you found exactly what you were looking for, more than likely in the number 1 position on page one of the search results.

Why is this important to you and your keyword research?

Simply put, if you know the exact keyword or keyword phrase, that other people are typing into the search forms, you can use those exact words and phrases on your websites and blogs to help the search engines return your blog on the front page for the specific keyword or keyword phrases that your potential customers shown an interest in.

Yeah... if it were only that simple you are probably thinking or saying.

Believe me, when I first started out, everyone told me it was easy peazy to do just that. I was gullible enough to believe it. Not anymore.

Well, after years of trial and error, I believe I have finally perfected my keyword search techniques to where I am able to get on Google's page 1 or 2 within a few weeks. It used to take me months to even see page 10 or 15 until I stumbled upon a technique that is almost beyond my wildest dreams.

And YES... I am going to teach this technique to you today. You can try it, or not... the decision is yours. Either way, this is one of the two techniques I will be showing you in this chapter.

The first thing to do is type in the keyword - Google Keyword Tool - in the search engine of your choice. This tool by Google, is completely free, and uses Google's search database to return up to 100 High, Medium and Low competition keywords.

Before we begin, let me explain that keyword research can be very time consuming. On the other hand, it's probably the most important Search Engine Optimization (SEO) technique you will ever learn, especially for FREE.

OK, just so you can see what I'm talking about, follow along with me inside the Google Keyword Tool. Click here:

Earlier, we used Back Pain Relief, as the Niche you were going to consider for your blog. So, for this example we will use the same Niche keyword.

You should be on the home page of the Google Keyword Tool right now.

Type the keyword we are using - back pain relief - into the box titled Word or phrase.

Fill in the Captcha code in the box just above the Search button, once you have entered the Captcha code correctly, click on Search.

Your search results will appear and you will notice that there are two sets of keywords. The first is under the title "Search terms", and that is the keyword you typed in the Word or phrase box - Back Pain Relief.

You will notice that the "Competion" is High, then you will see Global Monthly Searches and Local Monthly Searches. Both have a high amount of searches under them.

Global Monthly Searches are just that. This is the the volume of searches in the past month for the entire world who wanted information on Back Pain Relief (135,000).

Local Monthly Searches doesn't mean searches in your general local market.

Local Searches are what Google considers the local area which defaults to the whole United States. So, looking at the results you just received, local searches basically means that 74,000 searches in the United States were made for Back Pain Relief in the past month.

Using the numbers returned for Global or Local searches, you can see there is a huge market for people trying to get back pain relief.

Now, unless you have a real desire to fail in your first blog, back pain relief will probably NOT be one of your primary keywords. But, using the formula and the research you are about to learn, you will see why using back pain relief will be almost impossible for you to get ranked for in the search engines.

With your search results still up on your screen, you will see another area called "Keyword ideas". When Google returns these results, they do so randomly. Since you surely don't want to use High or Medium competition keywords on your site (unless you have to), take your mouse and click on the "Competition" link. Google will then resort your results from High to Low.

Now, click on "Competition" again, and Google will resort the keywords and show the results from Low to High. Within the Keyword Ideas section, when Google returns keyword ideas, there are way more than 100 results listed. However, this tool only allows you to see 100 keyword ideas.

Now that you have the keywords sorted for low competition, you still have 100 keywords to look at and decide which one's, if any, are good keywords for your blog. Believe me, if you can't find 5 or 6 money making keywords from a list of 100, you may wish to reasearch another Niche.

Here's where your keyword research really begins.

If you were actually performing this keyword search for your own Niche you should have NotePad, OpenOffice, Wordpress, or similar files open to a blank sheet so you can write down the keywords you want do research on and save them to your hard drive.

Place your keywords into the document one keyword per line (you'll see why in a moment).

Now, go back to the Google Keyword Tool and look at all the "Low Competition" keywords that were generated. Using the Global Monthly Searches column and look for keywords that have a MINIMUM of 5000 searches per month.

Before you decide on keywords for your blog, remember, only choose the keywords that pertain to your Niche blog, your product or your content. Out of the 100 keywords you are looking at, you should have roughly 10 - 15 really good keywords that you will be targetting. Of those keywords, if you come up with 5 - 7 keywords that meet the research criteria, you should have a dynamite blog with more traffic than you can ever imagine.

Either of these will work quite well for you. I will examine one keyword from the list of 100 I got during my search for Back Pain Relief. I will examine the same keyword using both criteria.

You can then determine which one of these research methods you prefer, or you can decide to use neither of them, and use your own research technique. After all, it is YOUR blog!

METHOD 1:

1. Make sure your keyword has a "minimum" of 5,000 monthly Global Searches in Google's Keyword Tool.

2. Check your keyword with "Quotes" - "Keyword" and find those that have LESS than 30,000 pages returned in your search.

3. Ensure there are no more than 10,000 results found for "allintitle"

OK, if you have been following along you should have your keyword ideas sorted by low competition inside the GKT. Now, scroll down, look at all 100 of the keyword ideas, and remember, only look at those with 5,000 or more searches. Also, make sure the keywords you are looking at doing research on fits well within the Niche you are planning to enter.

Below are the keywords I picked from the list. You will notice I took some creative license in that I added other keywords not on the list returned by Google (see highlighted keywords). The main reason I added them was because they are part of your primary keyword - Back Pain Relief. You never know when a good keyword is going to crop up. (FYI - None of those highlighted keywords fits our criteria - but, I had to check)

back pain relief
back pain
pain relief
back
pain
relief
my back hurts
back hurts
stabbing back pain
sore back
back spasms
back aches
lower back pains
back problem
for back ache
back problems

Now you need to go to your search bar for the search engine you normally use. Type in your keyword with Quotes. Here is what your search would look like. "Back Pain Relief"

Remember, we are looking for LESS than 30,000 pages. Woah.... this one has 2,770,000 pages returned. Well, that sure doesn't meet what we need. Let's see what it looks like when it appears in the title of the website or blog. To do this you would type this into the search bar:

allintitle:"Back Pain Relief"

Not looking good... that search came back with 126,000 ... While you may use this for your domain name, this isn't a keyword you will rank well for unless you do an unbelievable amount of work, and spend months, possibly years, to get to page one.

Let's see what Method #2 has to offer us regarding Back Pain Relief.

METHOD 2:

1. Make sure your keyword has a "minimum" of 5,000 monthly Global Searches in Google's Keyword Tool.

2. Type your keyword into the search engine without Quotes - Back Pain Relief. Count how many times you see Back Pain Relief in the Title on page 1 of Google. For a keyword you will be able to quickly rank for, you need a MAXIMUM 3 in title... 2 or less is optimal! Do NOT count the paid advertisements about the top 10 searches. Those are Adwords and do not count against the other search results.

3. Next, Count how many times you see your keyword in the textual description under the title. You should have a MAXIMUM of 3 in the description... 2 or less is optimal.

Using this method for the same keyword, Back Pain Relief doesn't look quite as bad. However, it still doesn't meet the criteria of 3 or less in title (there are 4 exact matches in title on page 1). It meets the maximum for keywords in description, however, because it doesn't meet all 3 areas, I would pass on this keyword.

What you now have to do is decide if this is the Niche you want to enter and promote. But, remember, you still have a bunch of keywords that pertain to this Niche that you haven't researched. One or more of them could possibly be a hidden jewel.

Do your keyword research on each one and see what you come up with. Here's a real BIG HINT... when you are doing research plurilize your main keywords. There is a good reason for this.

Example: Back Pain has 2,740,000 searches, but it won't meet our requirements for either Method 1 or Method 2. Add an "S" to it and this now becomes a completely different keyword. The other great think about plural words is that you can actually rank for BOTH keywords at the same time.

You may rank for Back Pains because it meets the criteria. Once you get Back Pains on page one of Google, if anyone inputs Back Pain you have a chance of that being found also on page one because "Pain" is part of "Pains". So, in your keywords place both Back Pain and Back Pains. Hope this helps you get additional love from the search engines.

I did a search for both Back Pain and Back Pains. Back Pains has 301,000 searches, but ZERO exact match searches on Page 1 of Google. There are ZERO exact matches in the descriptions.

So, let me ask you this... does Back Pains meet the criteria for both methods. The answer is Maybe. Got Ya. Unless you do the research, even if a keyword "looks good"... if it doesn't pass the tests, don't use it unless you have to.

It does meet 2 of 3 for Method 1 and it meets ALL criteria for Method 2. Would I take a chance on this keyword? More than likely because Method 2 is the best method I have ever used. Method 2 is the method I came up with that has basically turned my online life around.

Before I forget, remember I asked you to open up a notepad and put your keywords in one line at a time?

Now that you've done that, and have added and "S" to the ends of some keywords, and removed the "S" from other keywords, copy and paste your keywords back into the Google Keyword Tool, and do another search with all your good keywords.

This will bring you up an even deeper set of keywords that may meet the requirements of Method 1 or Method 2... and if you're really lucky.. both methods of research. Good luck!

So, now that you have finished all your keyword research you are ready to move on to the next step in your blogging career.

See you in the next chapter.

END OF CHAPTER:

By taking my time, and following Method 2, I have found keywords with over 100,000 search and ZERO in Title and ZERO in the description. The good keywords are out there, but you have to be patient and really dig deep.

I hope this helps many of you. Check out the keywords you are using on your website/blog. You may find out why you aren't getting the Google love you thought you might or you feel you should.

The search engines can only return what they perceive as relevant websites, blogs or content from the keywords their customes (your visitors) input to find information that they are interested in.

Spend some time on your SEO/Keywords and you could find yourself on page 1 or 2 in no time at all.

Best of luck...

Allen

Use This To Protect Yourself From Email Scams.

From: IP-Adress.com - Michael Paul

Hello

In a recent news article just this week, industry experts have publicly stated that Email Scams are on the rise.

Here at IP-Adress.com, we have some tips you can use on our sites to trace an email address sender, and already several thousand have used this tool on our site in the last few weeks alone. After seeing both trends, we knew it was time to alert our own users of this uptick in email scams right now, and what you can do to protect yourself.

3 Helpful Tips Not To Fall Victim:

1. When you receive a suspicious email that has links in it (which most of the new scam techniques are using) hover over the link without clicking on it. Sometimes if it says in text that it is a Facebook or other popular brand link, doesn't mean it really is! When you hover, you can see the real link in the bottom of your web browser typically. If it isn't something you recognize, then delete it immediately. Good chance it is a scammer phishing for data.

2. Use our Trace Email Tool on IP-Adress.com to trace any email address. If you receive a mystery email, this tool will help you by giving you an indication if the email sender is real, and if they are, then a full report on their name and location will be made available. You can access that tool here:

http://www.ip-adress.com/trace_email/

3. Another tool is our free Email Header Trace located on the same page. If you are little more technical, you can extract the email header from the sender's email address and get some basic information on the owner of it. Not quite as extensive as our full report email trace option, but it gives you some idea on where the email originated from. You can access that free tool here:

http://www.ip-adress.com/trace_email/

We hope these tips will keep your email usage safer and protect you better from Email Scams.

Visit and bookmark
http://www.ip-adress.com/trace_email/
to access those tools when needed, and be sure to share with friends and family to warn them.

Stay safe,

Michael Paul

Has your computer HD died and you have lost all your software? Can't find your license keys or registration keys for software you purchased and installed on your old system?

Or, you had software installed by the OEM, but weren't provided the CD and you want to install it on a new system?

If you don't have the registration and activation keys, you could be hard pressed to get anyone to help you.

Maybe you just want a record of everything on your current system for future use as needed.

I have the solution and it takes just a couple of minutes.

Go here, download the software, install on your computer and then save the html file somewhere safe... just in case... you might also want to print a copy and put it in a safe place as well....

Download Belarc Advisor v8.3b (freeware) - AfterDawn: Software downloads

Too much to do and not enough time?

That's the position I have found myself in as of late.

I looked into outsourcing, and found that many of the outsourcing companies, even those advertised here in the Warriour Forum can cost you anywhere from 300 - 500 JUST TO GET STARTED.

Then, on top of the "finders fee" you have to pay the Virtual Assistant their hourly wage.

My money saving tip for you is use oDesk.

http://www.oDesk.com

I have just hired a VA for less than 3.00 an hour who has a 4.99 out of 5.00 rating and has over 750 hours of documented work.
So, if you are planning on getting someone to help with your websites, graphics, WordPress Blogs, etc...

http://www.oDesk.com is the place to go.

It's free to sign up, free to post your jobs, and all you have to do is pay your VA what their agreed upon hourly wage is.

You can get them for full time, part time, or pay them as SET PRICE just for the work as a project.

I'm SO GLAD I found this site for my own outsourcing needs.

Check it out - after all, it's free to look.
