I've tested this a lot and my conclusion is that if your web server can handle the traffic without slowing down dont use a CDN.
Using a CDN requires an extra DNS lookup so it will take more.

I usually start with only 10 urls ( medium to high traffic ) and let each one spend at max 2x the payout.
If an url has spent 2x the payout and has no conversions I cut it.

I think I know what your problem is. In your screenshot it's clear you have put %%$keyword%% instead of %%keyword%% (without the dollar sign). Try removing the $ symbol and you should be good to go.
