Move profitable/high traffic keywords into their own adgroup and pause or delete keywords that do not convert.

Concentrate on what is working and just expand on it.

If you bid on broad or phrase matches your ads will still show for terms that contain other words and YOUR words that users types.

In example. You bid on "frog legs" phrase match.

They never delete completely. You need to set the view to see ONLY active or All but deleted. This will filter out the deleted campaigns from view
