I'm looking for web hosting for large storage, with minimal cost per terabyte.

Estimated growth of services disk amount: 10-50GB per month.

Have you info about such provider?

rackspace has own servers, or it's a reseller?

Rackspace is one of the largest cloud providers in the world. They definitely has their own infrastructure. However I'd probably not go with them.

        1. Global Movies Database = $489.95 = 1.5 GB data + 65.9 GB images.

        2. World Hotels Database = $589.95 = 1.54 GB data + 71.4 GB images.

        3. Auto Parts Database = $489.95 = 15.8 GB data + 30.4 GB images.

I've personally found them to be very competent and very responsive, on many occasions. (And I'm not even their direct customer; I personally use a reseller so that I can host on Cloud Sites for only US$5/mo.)

You're certainly entitled to your own opinion. Not sure why you're so negative, but it should be noted that those reviews are about three years old, and two of the three reviews are from customers who couldn't pay their bill. Rackspace makes their pricing very clear up front, and they're definitely better oriented towards businesses, not the casual home consumer.

Are you storing the data in a relational database i.e MySQL / SQL or storing files?

With s3 I'm worried about IOPS counting. Unexpected peak of traffic can rise my costs. It's too complicated for planning.

Rackspace calculation depends on GB - it's more easy.

If s/he's increasing their storage by 50GB/mo, I'm pretty sure they don't want free/cheap hosting.
