Opt in fields...how the heck!?

I'm wondering, does anyone out there know how the opt in field works on some of these pages? I have the code for it, no problem...then once they submit the information...how do I get it to store somewhere? I created a php file for the information to go, but it doesn't store. I also created a second page just to relay the information past...nothing.

I need some help getting the information FROM the "Action Button" to the actual list builder...Any help would be great...thanks!

    Well, lengthy books could be written on the subject of how to securely store and utilize data that's input on a web page.

    But it sounds as if you're talking about a squeeze page template you've bought or copied. Usually these are designed to send the information to an autoresponder service such as Aweber and add the person's data to a list that you've created at the autoresponder service. This would mean that you need an account at an autoresponder service, set up correctly and linked correctly, or nothing will happen.

    Does this make sense in the context of what you're working with? Did it come with any instructions that mention an autoresponder?

    If this doesn't help, post a link to your page and some further details about exactly what you want to be able to do with the saved data.

      That definitely will help, yeah I just wanted to make sure there was no way of doing it without an Aweber account. Thanks for the help...I am in fact setting up a squeeze page for something and that's why I needed the info.

    If you don't want an autoresponder service, you can optionally have the form input be sent to your email. However, that's a lot of work, since you have to keep up with your subscribers manually.

    Hence, it's probably best that you have an autoresponder provider connected to your optin form.

    I use a program called Isubscribe for paying membership sites.

    Formfilla can be used to just gather info.

    Cheaper than writing our own.
