Which CMS do you use?

Out of curiosity, I was wondering what people use as content management systems for managing their websites.

Perhaps you explain why you like using/implementing websites with your preferred CMS.

    I mainly use WP. I think wordpress is a great CMS. With all the plugins and themes out there , you can transform your blog into a forum , a landing page or in a professional website.
    You just have to tweak and search around a bit and just customize it to your heart's content

      Hi,

      A couple of years back I used Joomla. At that time, one had to tweak and customize Joomla to make it seo-friendly and blog-friendly.

      You had to add an extension (aka plug-in) to make it seo-friendly. The blogging or social networking component of Joomla was not effective, (I think had issues with digg or technorati). If one wanted to have an effective blog or social networking on their site, they had to add an extension that would integrate WordPress into Joomla or install Wordpress blog outside Joomla.

      Plus, I came across survey results (can't remember the site), that showed that blogs on wordpress and blogger platforms ranked far higher than blogs on Joomla.

      So instead of managing Joomla and a Wordpress blog (outside Joomla) on the same website, I decided to just use Wordpress.

      Like I said my comparison was done a couple of years ago.

      I don't know whether the current Joomla blogging component is effective or whether one still needs an extension (plug-in).

      With Wordpress, the cms and the blogging components are all integrated.

      So i'm currently using Wordpress.

        I like ModX. It's not as advanced as something like Joomla and Drupal, but I believe it makes up for it in flexibility. It's easy to get set up, and it allows me to get down "to the metal" if I want to add something using PHP code.

        I don't believe it's for beginners, but if you know what you're doing it's a snap to get a great site up.

        In fairness to Joomla and Drupal, I haven't used them for a project.

        Yeah, Joomla is bad to use for blogs.
        Wordpress is much better there.
        Version 1.5.x of Joomla is great so far.
        Build in rewrite of urls.

        I'm testing it out here:

        for some projects in the future.

          Yeah, Joomla really made some really big improvements in the last year, you can not compare the joomla of two years ago with the new version!

            We use wordpress. It's best CMS. Installation and management is so easy than other CMS.

    Wordpress ALWAYS! At least when I can get away with it.

    It's fairly powerful, flexible, and has a rich complement of plugins and freebie/low cost themes.

    I'd do every site I could with Wordpress.

    But, Drupal is the winner when it comes to ULTIMATE flexibility. It's a little crazy and much less "intuitive" than WordPress. But with Drupal'd templated theming you can do just about anything.

    Also, IMHO Drupal and Ubercart provide the best combination of ease of use (for clients to manage) and flexibility when it comes to e-commerce sites.

    I wish Ubercart would port it's Drupal module to WordPress!

      I use Joomla as I find it easy to customize as per my requirements and it is also very user friendly. The new version had some new features and adjustments and is far better than the previous versions with some major bug fixes.
