What is the best method to make money as a programmer

Hi,
I need to use my programming skills in c,c++,python to make some money online.
I have recently signed in freelancer.com and upwork.com but it doesn't seem very easy. Every posted job get a huge number of programmers especially experienced ones so whenever i post to a project i have never got a feedback from the client and it's for about 3 weeks ago that i have started freelancing.

Is there any other sites especially for beginners like me to do projects and get paid and do you know guys some other method to do it

Any help will be much appreciated.i'm really demotivated after spending all my time looking for such opportunities. thanks

I'm not a developer, but I've spent more than five years on both Freelancer and Upwork. I also have quite a few friends who're successful developers. I know it can be quite hard and frustrating at the beginning, but once you build your reputation and portfolio you'll be just fine. One more thing I learned from my friends developers. You should start thinking about your own app. Some idea or solution. Here you will find guys to help you promote it. In the future, I can help you write some content for it. So, my word of advice, don't give up. Cheers. N

I hear you. I used to walk in your shoes not so long ago. Again, just don't give up. I don't worry too much about the competition. For example, there are more than 20 million users on Freelancer.com, most of them are freelancers. So what? Not all of them are good or reliable. You just need to hold the line until you grab the first couple of clients, then you'll find yourself in a completely different position. A review or two, and you already have better chances. Cheers!

There is a better way. Joint Venture and Freelance for companies. Freelancer, and PeoplePerHour are great, but you need to add more channels, or widen your net.

Contact web site design companies in your area to see if they outsource, or go to events that the tech event people go to and get their business card, contact them.

Tell them directly that you've started your small business and am looking to partner with a web agencies in the area. They won't know you're there until you tell them.

I found it was better and easier to email them directly then cold-calling them. I also remember going to events meeting with CEOs of other companies, asking them if they were looking for freelancers, and most importantly told them that I was looking for work.

    1) Contact local web agencies and design agencies and print agencies; tell them your new business and looking for partnership or freelance contracts
    2) Meet and greet people at the networking events, tell them you're looking for work
    3) Joint Venture with print agencies and design agencies.

What do you say in your emails, be honest; you're a new business and looking to do freelance projects, even mention past sites or people you've worked with.

    Thanks

To get a job on freelancer you will need to quote on lots of offers and cut your price a lot on the first job to get some ratings. You could also be more "aggressive" in trying to get the jobs by messaging the posters and trying to engage with them. You could also find a market, develop your own script and promote them to make some sales. That's what I do...

Currently ecommerce and wordpress is going fine , but if you have new ideas you can make coding and web based application and then you can sell your script online or on freelancer site. Another way is to bid on freelancer site on programming assignments and you can earn using it
