Where to find a Programmer To make me a tool?

Anyone out there ever used a programmer to create a bespoke piece of software to do a specific job?

I need to get a little thing made to help me save a bunch of time but have no idea where to look for the guys who do this stuff.

Your recommendations and resources appreciated?

      already been quoted more than acceptable fee to get it done

      well worth it, will save me 10+ hours per week getting data from websites

    I would advise that you clearly state every expectation on both sides in a contract agreement before you commit. In the document you have to clearly specify functionality requirements in detail, timing of deliverables, user interface methodology, program operating environment and methodologies in use, software support, software registration mechanism, security and vulnerabilities, restriction on use, costs of modifications and upgrades, ownership of source files, effects and resolution of failure to comply on both sides of the contract.

    Bottom line the more clearly the software project is defined the more likely a favourable result for both parties!

      I do agree. With freelancers, being specific is the name of the game. However, most I have worked with on Upwork are very accommodating.

    You could find good programmer on Upwork, Freelancer or Fiverr.

    While Upwork and Freelancer operate on the principle of bidding. You post your job requirement, freelancers will bid for that job, if you like their profile and price, then you can award them the project. For Fiverr, Freelancers upload what they want to do, and you choose from whome you want the service..
