Value of programming for IMers?

Hi, I'm learning Python and find it to be quite enjoyable so far (although certainly difficult at times). But I'm also wondering what the value of it is for us in the age of autoresponder services and full featured WP page builders.

Does programming truly help with internet marketing? Or is IM basically about the M these days?

Programming doesn't necessarily help with internet marketing.

Some im'ers do NEED programming, and typically pay someone for their services.
Some im'ers will learn programming for their own use, especially to avoid paying for the services.

However there is ALOT of value in programming, If you choose to be a programmer.
If you are looking to do BOTH, than your probably spreading yourself thin.
This is typically an outsourced type skill. Programmers focus on programming. Marketers focus on marketing.

I started off as a marketer. I learned how to program code. i considered myself an internet marketing programmer.

    Now I am a programmer.

I can confirm that there is alot of value in being a programmer tho.
Personally, I have earned over $50k in the last 6 months, from 1 client, strictly for php programming services.

Im not sure if this really answers your question, but if you like programming, Stick With It! it is a highly in demand skill!

The "full featured" WP page builders have nothing to do with programming... They essentially "replace" a Web Designer... A Web Designer is far from a programmer...

Programming itself doesn't help... It is just a task.

What does help is building software solutions to solve problems people have... That is where the value... and ultimately the money is.

Makes sense, and part of the reason I think I enjoy Python is because it focuses on back end programming challenges.

I'll have to refocus my mindset on which companies to target and what to offer them, but I believe I will be able to do it in a year's time, thanks

My content is automated through php scripts. I grab the feed add keywords to the titles, generate my own feed for social media, generate the webpages along with a twitter follow and an offer on each page. Then I set it up to sell it to clients.

Wordpress etc is just too limiting.
