Maybe one of you can figure this out

Inside dreamweaver when i open up an image file to one of the sites I'm working on, it pops up an error and closes the program.

I went to open the same folder outside of dreamweaver on my desktop and it does the same thing.

I have scanned several times, defraged and just about everything else you could think of and nothing seems to help.

Any ideas? This is putting me way behind and to say the least...very frustrating.

Also...I just noticed that my FTP program (ws_ftp) is doing the same thing.

And...I tried to upload a small image from the file through cpanel...it closed out the browser. It does it in IE and FF.

    Hi Debra,

I guess the first thing to do will be to try and work out where the problem is occurring, and I would suggest breaking the task down into a number of different steps.

First step: Close all apps, and turn your PC off! Wait a good 10-15 seconds before reboot. Without loading any other apps, try doing what you want to do. It may just be that your PC has run out of memory space!

This happens to me a lot when I have PhotoShop & DreamWever open at the same timeIf no difference then try the following :

    1. We need to find out if the files you are uploading are corrupted in some way(either damaged files, or contain malicious code)

    2. The app on your PC are working OK, or do they need re-installing

    3. If your OS (I assume windows) is compromised in some way.

So I would suggest the following :

    1. If you can copy the files onto a thrumb drive and try doing the same operations on another PC. If it works OK on another PC, then the files are OK.

    2. If above worked OK, then I would suggest un-installing one of your apps (such as your FTP tool) and reboot and then re-install. And see if this makes a difference to the FTPing of files.

If this works now, then you know what to do

If still no success, and you and scanned many times, then it might be time for a re-install of windows.

If this fails, then all that is left is to reformat and start again..

    I hope this helps

    Bruce
