Migrate website to another host

Hello,

I am currently hosting a wordpress website in Godaddy, however i entend to move it to Sitegroud along with the domain name.

That been said, i will be unlocking and migrating completely the domain name to Siteground, so i am concerned because i want to know if there will be any downtime for my website in Godaddy, if so, approximately how long will that be ?

So if anyone have any idea or any experience on a similar matter i would appreciate any valuable informations you can provide me with.

Thank you

You can ask Sitegroud to migrate website for you. They offer free service and you shouldn't have downtime.

I had my two websites migrated from GoDaddy to Name Cheap a couple of years ago, and it was seamless. I hired someone on Upwork. My blogs each have over 1,500 pages and it cost me about $100 to have them both done at the same time. I hope that helps.

Typically, your new web host would be able to handle this for you. Since you're moving from GoDaddy, it depends on if you're on the older platform or the cPanel platform. If you're on the older platform, access to some things are not available such as emails. For cPanel, it's much easier as the new web host can use the full backup option within cPanel to copy the account over.

You can keep GoDaddy as your registrar and point the A records to SiteGround servers.

Are you using WordPress? Cool. Have you tried qSandbox yet?
