tell a friend script?

Hi

I'm looking for a good and reliable tell a friend script for my website which offers a mini course, and at the end of the course I would say something like

Know someone who could use this course too?
Tell your friend about this course!

so I was thinking of a tell a friend script.

Any recommendations?

P.S.
I did a search on google and got some results on the 1st page but I have no idea how well they work so I wanted to see if any warriors actually use a tell-a-friend script.

P.P.S.
I believe javascriptkit and dynamicdrive may have something like that, but can I use that for commercial use or for my business?

P.P.P.S.
Should I also add share buttons (Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Reddit, that kind of stuff) too? Because the website is a private area for my subscribers.

What language is your site written in? What membership script do you use? Do you want to include the member's affiliate link in the email?

It's a good idea for the end of your course, but be careful with it. Make sure your script has a Captcha or some other feature that verifies that it's actually a human and not a bot using it.

"Tell a friend" scripts are useful, but they can also send out mail that may be interpreted as spam, and improperly used (or abused) they could even end up getting you on an e-mail blacklist.

You might want to consider sending the user a confirmation message after they have filled out the form, just to make sure it really was intentional.

    Just a precaution

    Thanks everyone.

Actually, I'm still thinking about it, because I will be putting the "Tell-a-friend" feature on a page which I do not want to be found in the search engines...

Meaning that page will have the following code

    <meta name="robots" content="noindex,nofollow"/>

so I'm wondering, if I put the "Tell-a-friend" on that page, what that private page be shared? I want them to share my opt-in page, not the "you have reached the end of this course" page.

Just to echo what @mywebwork said, one other way would be to get a script that does not use your details to send of the message. Instead, it should populate the sender's details with the person recommending their friend. That way, their friend would see that the email came from them.

Would be better if you could find a script that would do that.

    Good luck

Hmm ok. That would mean that I'll probably have to program the code myself.

I probably will implement this feature in the near future.

      Thanks for the info!
