Video Conversion/Compression from WMV (Gotowebinar) to mp4 on a MAC

I am trying to convert and compress a WMV file download from a gotowebinar we did yesterday - I found a software called Wondershare Video Converter which was able to convert the WMV to an MP4

Now I have a huge mp4 file though - like 800MB - which won't work at all for streaming online - as I want to post the webinar replay in our members area (using Amazon S3 and EZS3 player)

Any MAC users out there with luck/success working with gotowebinar recordings?

I have camtasia for mac, and am in the process of exporting the mp4 through camtasia - as a smaller/compressed video file - we'll see how it works and if I'm able to get it small enough to upload to EZS3 and stream the video.

I'd love some help with any settings, suggestions or other programs you have had luck with on your mac that can help out.

Thanks!

Adam

      Hey WD

Is that program any good at convertung MOV files into FLV's?

If not, do you know of anyway to make Sony Movie Studio create FLV files?

      Any assistance would be appreciated

I use VLC to do this. Or FFMPEG. The problem with video stuff is you'll download and install something that converts X to Y but then one day you'll need Y to Z and said software wont do it!

MeGUI, FFMPEG and VLC -- between the three of them, I have all my video needs met.

VLC you gotta be patient with. It started out as a command line util, and it really should have stayed that way. Sometimes you'll use the GUI to do stuff and it won't end up in the command line as it should. So beware of that.

I recorded a screencast a week or so ago, and I used Stomp (Stomp) to compress my video.

If you're still struggling with this, try a piece of free software called Handbrake.

it does compression, and also allows you to resize and crop videos.
