Just wondering how can I set my buy now button to instant payment.. It's for a short report I came out with..

Going nuts figuring these out..

Just want to be clear what you want to achieve here. You want Paypal to send you an instant notification when someone buys from your site or you want to have a person enrolled into your subscription program when he click on your Buy button?

Hi,

There are all sorts of scripts available that do this for you. They usually also have the advantage of securing the download so people cant just email the download page to each other which costs you sales.

Commercial options include E-Junkie and Payloadz or DLGuard
If you have a wordpress site you can use - WPSecure or Yak

I've got two options for you, both are free, both are my creations:

1 - Simple IPN
This is a PHP script that you need to install on your server. It's lightweight, where it can only handle ONE product but can have multiple files. Setup is easy where database is not required.

Is this what you are looking for?

When creating the button in PayPal you must also do the following in the section

Customized advanced features

check add advanced variables and paste the code below in the textarea below

notify_url=YourURLHERE

I can say that I use and recommend simpleIPN. If you're only selling a single download item it's easy to setup and works great. For multiple items using a store/shopping cart format, I recommend OSCommerce.
